We use a strength-based and positive psychology approach to our practice. This means that we focus on empowering people to address their challenges, make positive changes, and ultimately feel a greater sense of happiness and fulfillment in their daily lives.
We are well-known for our in-depth psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of children/adolescents presenting with attention, learning, behavioral, and/or other neurodevelopmental challenges. We are experts in the identification of gifted children and those with "dual exceptionalities."

Services
Lifespan is comprised of an adult clinical psychologist (Jane Curtis, PhD), child clinical psychologist (Steve Curtis, PhD), and office manager (Gail Nakata). Our clinicians all have high-quality training, extensive experience, and are licensed to practice in the State of Washington. We have provided therapy services to the people of Bainbridge Island, and the surrounding Puget Sound area, since 1999.
We take a strength-based, positive psychology focus, in everything that we do. This focus is based on the field of positive psychology as articulated by Martin Seligman of the Positive Psychology Center at the University of Pennsylvania. We also incorporate strategies from the fields of CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), mindfulness, stress management, the Gottman Institute, applied behavioral analysis, and systemic family therapy.
We conduct comprehensive evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults. Our evaluations are designed to better understand the nature of a person's challenges so that effective intervention may be obtained. We can assess for ADHD, dyslexia, autism-spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, psychiatric issues, other neuropsychological issues, giftedness, and dual exceptionalities.
