Yoga Center Camarillo
Students who complete the initial series can join our Meditation group support and practice, and retreats. We understand that bodies change with age and life experiences, which is why our classes are not "once size fits all." At Camarillo Yoga, we teach Functional Yoga, which comprises a set of tools for optimizing physical and mental health for regular people, not acrobats.

Stress reducing breathing, mindful concentration and full body conditioning, are taught and personalized by experienced compassionate teachers, not lead from the front of the room where you follow along and hope you get it right. At CSYM, we teach Functional Yoga & Breathing for physical & mental health, not pretzly acrobatics.
Services
We are people of all ages, shapes, sizes, job descriptions, ethnicities and religious and political beliefs, who practice yoga and mindfulness together, support community causes together, and laugh together, a lot! Practice indoors at our main studio located at 5380 Bell Str. in Somis, CA. Or join us for Outdoor classes at Hartley Botanica Gardens or Encanto Park.
And, if you are new to yoga, no matter how athletic you are, consider beginning in our Yoga 1 or 1 & 2 classes to truly understand Functional Yoga methodology and develop an educated, not imitative practice. For older seniors or others who may have more limited mobility. Out of care for you during this health-challenging time, these classes are currently online only.
Mindful awareness dials down the stress response, so you can be focused, calm and compassionate even in difficult times, and truly savor the sweet moments so easily overlooked in our hectic lives. Short, secular, science-based meditations train your brain to make Mindfulness a way of being all day long.
Doctors recommend meditation for stress reduction. This peaceful class is designed to quiet your mind and is suitable for everyone who can get down on the floor. Supported by the wall, bolsters and blankets, these restorative postures help you release muscular tension, while mindful meditation helps clear mental clutter.
This class provides a safe, non-competitive place for girls to enjoy the physical practices of yoga, and learn about breathing and Mindfulness. Planting the seeds of yoga now is a gift that can bear fruit for your daughter both physically and emotionally for the rest of her life. Yoga Teacher, Jennifer Gados first discovered yoga in Hawaii in order to develop stamina, strength and balance for surfing.

I have been coming to CYC for about 6 years now, and I can honestly say this is the BEST yoga studio I have ever been to. Not because it's incredibly fancy, or extremely trendy, or full of "yoga masters" whose level I can never reach.
I've tried out SO many different studios in Ventura County, everything from hot yoga to the cool trendy places with shops up front. Also, one of my hobbies is taking a yoga class whenever I go on trips. So, I've been to many studios... To say the least.
What I LOVE about CYC is that I actually LEARN about my body. Every single pose is explained not only in yoga

I went to this studio after injuring my back after I herniated 3 disks in my lumbar. This was close to 4 years ago. I was willing to try everything other than recommended surgery, pain killers and injections. Audrey sat with me for a one on one and taught me the anatomy of my spine and we worked on small movements to strengthen my lumbar. It took about 2 years to heal and I am happy to report I am 100 percent pain free. And, I am enjoying activities again like horseback riding. As long as I am careful, do my daily exercises, I am pain free.
I also took Audrey's Mindfulness Meditation course

I attended Yoga 1 and Gentle Yoga. I was more capable at Gentle Yoga. Every instructor was patient and kind. I had some time off work and tried to go weekly. I enjoyed every moment. This is a great place to do yoga.

I have attended here for about five years. Attention is paid to good form and safety. The value is excellent for both time and finances.

I came here for a gentle yoga class after having been out of practice due to injury for several years. The class was pretty full, but despite that the teacher took the time to correct the postures of students who needed it, and she took the time to remember my name. It was a great class and I felt more welcomed than any other yoga class I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot). Due to my pain issues I can't practice very often, but if I could I would love to go all the time. I just wish they had gentle yoga at times working folks could go to too, though I imagine the demand is

A few months ago, I started taking classes in Camarillo Yoga Center, about 3 times a week on average. Since then, I have noticed very clear improvement in general well-being: energy and optimism levels went up, anxieties and various body imbalances went down. The full credit goes to Audrey Waltzer, the owner of the studio, and her great team of instructors. Audrey is incredibly knowledgeable in the ways human body works, and she is using her skills to fine tune exercises to match each practitioner's particular circumstances. This allows everyone, irrespective of age, fitness level, and general

I have had the privilege of practicing yoga for over two years with the team at CYC. I have been an athlete since I was young, and few years ago I injured my leg running and decided that it was finally time to ad a "gentler" practice to my life. Not only does Yoga change your physique, if you let it it also can change your mindset and attitude.

Now that I have been doing Yoga for a few years when I travel, which is quite often, I try and take classes every where. The last two classes that I took at other locations, both out of state, were identified as for all levels, the instructors

This place will teach you PERFECT yoga alignment. Yoga is very trendy right now and tons of studios are popping up all over the place, but I can tell you the majority of these places don't teach good alignment. I've been practicing yoga consistently for a few years, I've been to many studios and I've seen people hyper-extending their leg muscles and getting serious injuries (instructor not even correcting the student). Audrey is incredibly knowledgeable- every yogi should take a months' worth of classes with her to learn good alignment. This place is a hidden gem.

I moved to the area and had been practicing yoga where I moved from. I attended the power class as I am an advanced student. I agree with the recent reviews. Not helpful if you're looking to progress. They have a statue that your butt can't face, I did not know and was asked to do my handstands elsewhere so my butt would not face the statue. I was not given any guidance. The class did not feel like a flow. I did not break a sweat. I do not recommend it, I am now at YogaWorks and absolutely love it.

I started practicing yoga at Camarillo Yoga Center 7 months ago. Yoga was suggested to me as part of a mental, spiritual and physical rehabilitation process. I had never practiced yoga before so I did not know what to expect from the process.

To be quite honest, I never really felt comfortable at CYC. As one of the other reviews stated there is a very cliquish feeling at this yoga center. I felt that unless you had been practicing here along time you didn't fit in. However, I ignored my feelings because my purpose of joining a yoga center was for self acceptance, not group acceptance.

Love this place! Mindfulness Meditation class is life changing. Knowledgeable, attentive teachers. I took an infant massage class about 10 years ago that was a great experience for myself and my son. Recently I've taken yoga 1, restorative yoga, and gentle yoga, all wonderful experiences.

Began practicing prenatal yoga here. Tara is a wonderful instructor. Very knowledgeable and tailors each pose to what is best for your stage of pregnancy. I also attended Tara's birth perpetration class which was very helpful. After my baby was born I attended the weekly breastfeeding support group which is a great place to meet other new mom and receive help & support.

Yoga - Camarillo style for 10 years....

Audrey Walzer was voted "Best Yoga Instructor" for 2011 in the Ventura County Reporter, Best Of Health & Fitness Catagory; Camarillo Yoga Center was 2nd overall among places to learn and practice yoga.

Classes are mostly vinyasa-flow, with a strong Iyengar foundation. Audrey's been teaching for about 30 years, and has probably forgotten more than most other teachers know. She's picky about alignment and really works with you, in a respectful but persistent manner. There's about 30 classes a week.

I am a geek and have spent (up until recently) a good portion of my life in front of a computer or a video game.

In February of 2010 (7 months as of this review) I decided to try yoga to get my mind and body healthier.

Because I had never done anything physical before in my life some unique physical challenges quickly became apparent. Had the Camarillo Yoga Center not been the place I came to practice first, had I tried practicing in a fitness center style yoga class or some of the more extreme popular types of yoga, I could have seriously injured myself.

Through Audrey and the other teachers

Caveat: I've only been here once because I tried it and didn't come back.

First, there's no lobby or waiting area. When I arrived, I waited on the sidewalk of a mall for 10 minutes before we were allowed inside. Then we had to walk through the yoga space to put our stuff in cubbies. Finally, there was no one there to pay and it was very awkward trying to figure out what was going on. And, I should say, I didn't think the selection of classes or prices were competitive.

Once the yoga class was in session, I felt really out of place. I was new to the area and everyone knew each

NAMASTE!

It is places like Audrey's Camarillo Yoga Center that are helping to change the world and raise consciousness, one step at a time.

The studio itself embodies an energy that feels safe, tranquil and sacred. Whether I attend class on Saturday morning or late Thursday night, I always feel like I have come home.

Actually, it's better than practicing yoga at home because there are no distractions, access to all kinds of props and, naturally, teachers of the highest caliber. Audrey, Roni, Jill and Michele all have their own style and valuable wisdom to impart, keeping me an

Before coming here, I had never tried yoga. One class and I was hooked. I've taken classes from several of the teachers and each one has it's pluses. If you attend one class, but don't like the teacher, don't give up! They have so many choices that you can't miss. Audrey is extremely technical, but sometimes very silly. Jill is always laid back and happy, she makes everything from the day melt away.
They have classes every day of the week and the schedule is flexible for people working since they sometimes have 2 different evening classes.
On a side note, they offer

I've been to many yoga studios and this is the best one I've been to so far. Audrey corrected many of my bad habits and taught me many new poses. Unfortunately, Audrey raised her prices and I couldn't afford it. It's now something like $80/month with a 6 month contract and $100 w/o a contract. If you are even considering doing yoga, go here! It's worth the price if you go often enough, but my work schedule was conflicting with my usual 530 class. There's also dancing some nights.

This yoga center is amazing and quite popular considering Camarillo is a really quiet community.

I love the diversity of styles of the yoga teachers. Audrey, the owner, is awesome. She holds clinic style classes in which she fine tunes your yoga poses. You can actually feel the difference when she adjusts your pose. Jill is awesome and soothes out the aches and sores of the day and when you om-- you believe it.

The one gripe about the studio is that it's really really expensive. I mean like jeebus! Camarillo needs more yoga studios so it will have competitive prices. Audrey's fair
