Stayed for two nights in October. This hotel is a family run operation and I always felt welcome every time I talked with the owners. It's not a flashy or overly themed hotel but the rooms are large and clean, the beds are comfy, and the water in the shower was always hot. Considering the prices in a tourist town like Ouray, the rates for what you get here are very reasonable. This was my second time staying here and I would be happy to stay again.

This was such a nice place to stay and the staff is very respectful. They prefer if you arrive before 9 pm, but they’ll be happy to help you even after. The only issue we encountered was the partially clogged bathtub, but it was not as bad as it could’ve been. Do not expect to have cellular coverage in Ouray, since it is surrounded by mountains. But Wifi is good. Recommended!

Absolutely loved it. The views alone and location are incredible. The hotel is older and a bit dated on the interior, but let's be honest we weren't there for a 5 star hotel. Ouray is unbelievable and hands down, one of the most beautiful places in the USA. The owners (a family that have currently owned it for 8 years) were kind and attentive for our needs. Breakfast was a unquie experience with a brown bag full of breakfast goodies (yogurt, Danish or muffin and Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit or breakfast burrito) located in your hotel room fridge ready for the next morning. This hotel was perfectly located in the heart of downtown Ouray—everything is within easy walking distance. The management is always welcoming and helpful when we go. The rooms are fantastic, with a great view and excellent accommodations. This was not our first time here, and will not be our last!

Matterhorn is a gem in the beautiful town of Ouray. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds and THE most friendly family owns it. I felt very welcome & the owners are so easy & comfortable to talk with. Being personable means everything to me and the charming owners are an absolute delight!

Last week we scheduled 2 nights at this in, with a king bed.
We checked in on time and we were told they had given our king bed to the same people who had the room the 2 previous nights.
this meant that the people in our room were WAY MORE IMPORTANT than we were.
Plus we were here for our anniversary. What a joke. After wasting our time there- we discovered no more king beds available.
We took a room to clean up and promptly checked out on the 2nd day.
This review is for the inn. I never had heard of giving rooms away on a new reservation.\
Oh Well- this did not ruin our anniversary.

Made last minute trip to Ouray and this was the only hotel that had availability. To be quite honest, we were very impressed with the service, staff, and most importantly the room. It was a bit small considering that we had a large luggage but over all it was very nice, clean, beds were very much comfortable, clean tidy restroom, had a big flat screen tv and under it was a microwave and small fridge, hair dryer in sink drawer, rest chair , fast WiFi , and small table and chair. This place is amazing for a variety of reasons. 1. The room was incredible. Super clean and comfortable. 2. The service was impeccable. From the phone call to book the room to the overall service. 3. This is a personal event, on our stay I accidentally dropped my pouch that held my phone and gopro charges as well as my SD cards that had videos of our 6 day motorcycle ride. I spoke with the staff about looking for it. They on multiple attempts went back to the room and looked. They got on hand and knee to look under the bed and found it! Fantastic staff, so helpful and friendly. My husband and I were looking for a room on a very busy weekend, marathon weekend. We entered the Matterhorn but the Matterhorn was completely booked. The staff used their internet and knowledge to make phone calls and find us another place to stay. Completely over the top helpful. Great staff and hotel.

I booked a trip to Colorado a few months ago expecting to be there between the 12th and the 26th with two days in Ouray. Since I live in Virginia Beach Virginia we were supposed to be hit by hurricane Florence and were contacted by our airline to reschedule. I couldn't move my trip up so I cancelled my flight. One by one I called each hotel and they graciously cancelled my reservations. Even the one scheduled for my arrival date refunded me. My boyfriend and I were traveling and we came into Ouray very late. I called Matterhorn Inn around 11pm and they were extremely helpful. We had our fur baby with us and they were happy to accommodate him. They let us know that they were turning the hotel lobby lights back on just for us! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Once we arrived they had our room keys ready and a blanket for our fur baby. We woke up too late, but they had a very nice breakfast option. It was at a nice restaurant down the street you had the choice of 3 different menu options. The room was amazing! Very comfortable

This is a lovely inn just off the main street in Ouray. The young man who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, the room was perfect - not too big, not too small (although I can imagine if you are in the area during the winter with winter gear - boots, jackets, etc. - it might be a tad more cramped). I believe the property was recently renovated, and it showed. There is a nice patio area for relaxing, which we did one evening - great views of the surrounding mountains and a place to take in the fresh mountain air. We received breakfast vouchers for a place around the corner on Main Street

We arrived super early, check in is at 3 at we got there from Denver at 10 am and just wanted to put our stuff in our room and change after the long drive. The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating and got us into our room.
The room itself was very clean and nice, with a beautiful view. We are very happy with our decision to stay here!

Great hotel!! It was perfect for the cozy little get away my boyfriend and I wanted for a weekend. The room was small but it was perfect for the romantic weekend we had planned. They have very nice TVs too. It was walking distance to everything. Two blocks from one of the best hot springs wiesbaden. All staff was very friendly and the maid service was very good.

The hardwood floors are absolutely beautiful. The beds are fantastic. The WiFi is plenty fast. There's a really decent flat screen in the room. The heat lamp in the bathroom takes the cake! Everything is in tip-top shape.
The owner is really dedicated to his business, even going so far as to ask us if he could help us bring our stuff to the room we rented.
Minor qip: The hardwood floors are really slippery when you walk in the door with snow on your shoes. A nice door rug would solve this issue and would help better preserve the floors in their currently beautiful condition.

Absolutely above and beyond what I would have expected! Our room was huge and had more than enough space and beds for our worn out crew. The manager was helpful and kind, beds were comfortable and the room was clean and completely redone. Wood floors, big screen tv, two queen beds and a full pull out couch. The room included free breakfast for all, excellent addition and the food was great!

We came to Ouray with no reservations and the Matterhorn was the first availability we found after 4 tries. We were glad we stayed here. They allow dogs. The room appeared to be newly renovated. It was very nice and comfortable. The staff was super friendly. It's a block off Main St and a block to the Ouray Brewery brewpub, which we enjoyed multiple times. The room included breakfast at the Timberline Deli, which was very good. The only minor nit was that wifi was flaky from our room but that wasn't important to us. At $100 with pet deposit, this was a good value. We'll definitely
