Salvatore Sgroi, the owner and operator of Bella Italia Pork Store & Catering of Jackson grew up in Brooklyn and Staten Island, NY. His family came to America from Carini, Sicily in 1967. My dad opened his first store in 1970, J & J Meats, on New Utrecht Avenue & 69th Street in Brooklyn. I was raised in this business.
There I learned the art of being a butcher, making homemade sausage and fresh mozzarella. At home with my mom and grandmother, I was surrounded in Italian tradition and the love of homemade Italian food. Our mission at Bella Italia is to provide our customers with exceptional Italian Specialties using the freshest ingredients.

Updated 11/28/2021: Decided to make it a little easier on myself for Thanksgiving this year and ordered one of their Thanksgiving Packages. Bella Italia did not disappoint. The Turkey was cooked 3/4 and was seasoned so perfectly it made it impossible for me to ruin it when I finished roasting it at home. Best turkey ever. The rest of the sides were delicious and plentiful. I couldn't have been more pleased. An incredible value at a very reasonable price. They will be my new "Go to" for catering.

So I have lived in Jackson for the last 6 years and we found Bella's with a quick google search. We visited Bella's for the first time about 2 weeks ago and my family and I have already bought dinner here 3 times. We have 3 daughters who keep asking to go back to get dinners because they love the food so much. It has a great atmosphere and everyone is so nice. The food is always fresh and delicious. Definitely are go to spot when we don't have time to cook dinner. Look forward to our next meal here!

I ordered a prime rib roast for Easter from Sal and it was the most tender and flavorful rib roast that I had ever made. My family and I enjoyed it immensely!!! Will continue to order my roasts from Bella Italia. Great, friendly atmosphere. Homemade mozzarella and ricotta is to die for!!!!

I travel to Jackson, NJ for business frequently and found Bella Italia on the internet, thought their sandwich menu looked great, so a colleague and I tried it. Ok... I am hooked. I have been back numerous times not only for sandwiches but for their homemade meals, frozen foods, delicious deli food, and all of the imported goods. The service is excellent and every trip they have something new, that I have to try. I love to eat and I look to cook, so if you are a foodie like me then you can't miss this shop. So stop what you are doing and go now!

Another great holiday thanks to Sal at Bella Italia in Jackson. We ordered our Turkey Breast 2 weeks before Thanksgiving . It was ready for pickup when he said it would be and it was fabulous!!!! It was 7 lbs and tied beautifully. He also included cooking instructions in case we needed them. We often get the honey mustard chicken and rice balls also. His food is always fresh and delicious. You can count on this guy to provide quality food. Don’t confuse him with the store in Freehold. They aren’t the same caliber
