I made life-long friends here 💞. The sights, the smells, the music, the french toast, and I still love canoes!

Love this for kids 8 and over. They have options for little ones but mine didn't enjoy them much.
If you're younger one is into preschool and can get dropped off easily, is used to being without you all the day and is independent you might be fine!

This is the best music camp around! The kids get a great outdoor experience sleeping in tents and practicing for weekend concerts. The instruction and counselors are top-notch and highly trained. Excellent management and excellent music!

Best music experience, but the food is terrible. If you don't care at all about your child eating healthy, you will love it. Detox after camp. The teachers rocked.

Historic site of the Elim Hotel. Beautiful camp and wonderful opportunity for kids to learn new skills with their instruments! Their music floats through the giant redwood grove...

I submitted a review here on 12/23/2009, after our son had had 2 wonderful summers at Caz. Now, in late 2013, I just want to add that the magic of Caz never fades! Our son has returned every summer since that review, including last summer as a CIT . We could not have made a more consequential parenting decision than sending our young clarinetist to Caz. It has enriched his life and will continue to do so, with close bonds of friendship, making music and sharing work. Thank you, Cazadero Performing Arts Camp.

Cazadero is a phenomenal experience for the young musician. My son spent one short week here this summer and basically feels like he found himself a second home. The staff, counselors, instructors and conductors are totally amazing, dedicated and inspiring. Plus, sleeping under the stars and redwoods... you don't get a more authentic experience as a California kid. My son is already talking about his two week session next year at Caz, the camp that I attribute to helping him to find his calling as true musician.

When I was a kid, I went to this same camp; for a couple of years it was called Mendocino Music Camp when it was at a different location. My daughter just returned from her third summer at "Caz", and once again loved it. My kids always compare camps to the one in The Parent Trap (the ultimate camp) and this one seems to fit the bill for her... she can even take the charter bus from Berkeley up there, so arrives up in the redwoods on a bus loaded with kids. How perfect can life get?
This camp is primarily a band and orchestra camp, and they also have piano students. It's up in
