This is a well-known establishment located in the heart of Gainesville. The food is excellent and fresh seafood is available. The crab legs that I ordered was extremely hot and open easily. I also recommend the steam spy shrimp and fried oysters. My favorite side dish is hush puppies.

My husband and I stopped here today after a trip to DC. I had the fried shrimp basket and he had fish and chips. Bothe dishes were delicious and plentiful. Exceptionally great atmosphere and service. If in the area, we will certainly return.

Wonderful experience last night dining here. Oysters on the half shell were delicious 😋
The steamed crabs were large and very delectable.
Our wait was minimal
And our server Noah was absolutely wonderful.
Definitely will be back. And going to ask for Noah!

We ordered a dozen extra large crabs. The waitress assured us they were heavy & full. Instead several were very lite and a couple hollow. We were still hungry and had to order another meal after. We spoke to the manager who said “they don’t make any money on crabs”. They did not even give courtesy of only charging us for large or medium sized. $90 for crabs and still being hungry and having to buy another meal wasn’t very “customer friendly”. We felt it was rude.

For me, I will give it five stars on this occasion. Tuesday evening, not too busy. Greeted at the door by a very bright and bubbly girl. A nice welcome. Seated straight away. Server was lovely. Didn’t get her name. Sorry. So nice and helpful.
Our starters were good, server explained various items on the menu and gave some recommendations. Mushroom starter. Haddock for main with plain salad, was so good. Firm and flavourful. Shrimp with entree were good and chunky. We only visit occasionally but I do like this place. It’s basic themed environment, no frills for me is great. Hate fuss. Good

This was our first visit to Blueridge Seafood and we loved it! Wonderful experience and great food. Staff was very friendly and service was nonstop. We will be back the atmosphere added to the great ambiance. All of my party enjoyed their meals.

Not great, but it met my expectations based on location and price. My wife didn't agree. We split the Blue Ridge Platter and had it broiled, except for the clam strips. The fish was fine, if a bit overcooked. The clams and scallops were fine, as were the fries. The crab cake was a fail. It was mostly filler, had no shape, and was obviously undercooked. The waitress was very nice and checked on us often. We opted to sit outside so she wasn't able to just glance our way. I'd give them a 3.5 if I could, but in my opinion it doesn't rate a 4, at least from our experience.
