Eh, the food definitely does NOT equate to the outrageous price tags. Catering is a joke. I'm 100% convinced the appetizers on the catering menu are prepackaged from Costco or some wholesale company. They definitely did NOT make them. Paid close to $23 for 12 tiny little "lobster" pastries. Not impressed overall.

What a lovely gem. I have driven by this place so many times and had no idea what I was missing until now. They have so many great goodies to offer. The day I visited I was lucky enough to get their kale salad. It was the best kale salad I have EVER had! It was tossed in a lovely citrus vinaigrette with parmesan and pepitas. The kale was so tender and delicious. We ate a full pound of the salad in 15 minutes. We just could not stop. It was amazing.

They always have a variety of other salads, prepared sides, dishes, and desserts. My first stop there we walked out with 2 small cheesecakes, a serving

Paid $9.75 for a salad that had a huge amount of lettuce but hardly any other of the listed ingredients. Got a sandwich that was a lot of bun but scarce on ingredients. Would not recommend or go back.

We stumbled on The Cooking Company one afternoon when we moved into our new house. It is now our go-to place when we don't want to cook but don't want fast food. Their ready-to-go salads are wonderful. The chicken salad is chock full of chicken and their Shepard's pie is just like Grandma made it. My favorite is their portabella wrap. My husband's favorite is their soups (any of them).

Yes. They are surely pricey, but if you compare a meal at Wendy's with this place - they really are the same price. Well worth the stop. Great for picnics. Great for meals on the go. Great

Amazing made to order salads. Desserts are terrific and local. Prices are spot on, especially if you go for the refrigerated to-go entrees (figure around $11 per, easily serves 2), which is a bargain vs. "fast food" prices, considering The Cooking Co. is freshly made and supports the local economy.

Their soups are great - everything is freshly made and rotates daily, plus, they use a minimal amount of salt (good thing), so if you happen to be a salt vampire like me, just be prepared to add a skosh to your liking.

Great bread, which is also used for their sandwiches. If you want a

The food at the cooking company is okay, but nothing spectacular as the outrageous prices might suggest.

The issue that I have with the cooking company is that every time I order something the staff are completely miserable and treat the customers like sh**. I do understand that it can get pretty busy in there for lunch, but that is no excuse to give customers attitude.

I think that if the employees had a little attitude adjustment it just might be worth going back in because I don't go to a restaurant to be treated that way.

Great place to have lunch (they have tables inside and outside in nice weather) as well as picking up stuff for dinner when you don't feel like cooking. I've tried most things on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. The food is very good - the sandwiches superb and big. My only small gripe, and it's minor, is that they need a better and systematic approach to helping the next customer, like picking a number at a deli counter, and a separate line for call-ahead orders. If I were the owner, I'd remove the displays of lotions and soaps and add more tables for people to

Stumbled across this little gem on our way home today. We found ourselves in the area around lunchtime and decided to use Yelp to help navigate us to somewhere great for lunch. What a treat this place is! Reminds me a lot of the Vermont Country Deli in Brattleboro, Vermont. Plenty of soup, salad, sandwich and prepared food options all reasonably priced. We opted for : chicken salad, the Cobb and Arizona. Both were plentiful and flavorful!
The store sells products from Maine and elsewhere and lots of dessert options too. Don't have time to cook? Check out their foods to go. We do not find ourselves

I called to ask about ingredients in one of their dishes due to diet restrictions and they were evasive and rude. Not confident that they answered truthfully because they did not seem knowledgeable about the food they make and just wanted to get me off the phone. Then they just hung up on me without even saying goodbye.

Convenient spot to pick up something to go as we travel regularly between West Hartford and Clinton. Wish they had more Gluten Free options. They should keep some gluten free bread frozen so they can use it for sandwiches. It's so easy for restaurants to do not sure why more do not. Salads are huge so it makes two meals.

Amazing spot hidden under my nose. Fresh high quality ingredients combined well. Today I had a kale salad with pumpkin seeds and it was perfectly seasoned with lemon and tart cheese. The Portobello stuffed with walnuts, spinach and cheese was stellar.

Small deli counter with friendly service, some seating indoors with a fireplace and outdoor area. Local coffee, local gifts and great food.

Overall, it's not cheap, ($12 for lunch) but I felt it was great value based on the high quality food and great flavors. I'm shocked at some of the bad reviews and my companion had a great meal

This is a take out place with a corner nook seating area. In winter they might have the fireplace going. It is a destination where I meet up with girlfriends. We enjoy purchasing a scoop of this and that and our scoops are weighed by the pound. I think the soups are good. I typically bring a dessert or two home. I like the decor.

I absolutely love this place. I just came back from eating a CUBANO panini and a piece of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and I need a cigarette, it was so awesome!! They make THE BEST chocolate peanut butter desserts, it looks like a hockey puck, absolutely awesome!! Only one time did I have something not so good, but it was my fault, I ordered it from the menu without seeing it, and it was not what I expected, but if you go there and order from the glass case you CANNOT go wrong. You can even sit outside if you like. everything is so good, I can't rave enough.

I was on my way home from work when I happened to notice this quaint looking store....and also noticed how full the parking lot was at 5pm, so I decided to pull in and check it out.

Such a cute little shop! Half deli/half gourmet to-go, The Cooking Company offers up some tasty treats! And they also provide catering services as well. During my visit, the to-go case was filled with delicious looking finds, including chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce, chicken breast stuffed with gorganzola, walnuts, and cranberries, grilled flank steak over spicy mexican rice, and buffalo chicken mac n cheese
