Both La Piastra locations are wonderful. The one in Glastonbury is in an extremely convenient location. It is clean, staff is welcoming & professional, and food is delicious (at a great price too). I frequently recommend this small business. I know my family is waiting for what I bring for the upcoming holiday, as the meals were a hit last year.

Thank you La Piastra for a wonderful mini wedding reception. We enjoyed the chicken picatta , the mashed potatoes, the grilled vegetables and the big kid Mac and cheese. The staff did an awesome job setting up and serving all of our guests. We highly recommend Lauren and her staff for your next event.

I used La Piastra to cater a luncheon for the first time and it certainly won't be the last! Our food arrived piping hot and everything was absolutely delicious! So many compliments from my guests! Would highly recommend the chicken piccata, chicken parmesan, the meatballs and the arancini balls! Mary was very attentive and helpful with planning the menu.

I been buying food from La Piastra for the past week as I can't cook due to an injury. The food is amazing! Every single dish they sell is delicious. Cooking instructions are easy to follow. I love that I have the option of delivery or curbside pick up. My biggest regret is not trying them earlier. Thank you for making delicious food, me and my family are extremely happy. Every dish we've had is a truly "home cooked" meal!

I picked up the single serving Beef Bourguignon. This item was a January special and they were actually offering samples to customers right when you walk in. It was so delicious. Per their online menu it has: Slow cooked beef chuck with mushrooms, carrots and pearl onions in a red wine beef stock, served over egg noodles. I will be back to try additional items, there was a large variety to choose from.

I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5, because I'm not an onion fan and a few of the foods had a strong onion flavor. Other than that, the staff is very nice and helpful! I'm new to the GF diet and they have a good selection of foods to pick from. Also a great kids kitchen set up to keep the kids busy while shopping. I will be returning!

I used La Piastra for hosting a family Christmas dinner party where guests had gluten and dairy allergies. Finding this place relieved so much stress of trying to make food myself with the allergies in mind. It was incredibly easy to just reheat with very straightforward instructions, and the food tasted great! I got many compliments and my nephew (who's 6 and refused to eat ham) actually ate 3 pieces of ham and loved it. I've also dropped by the store and picked up random to go meals for myself as well and everything has been easy and tasty. I highly recommend their food. Thank you!

I have mixed reviews on this place based on the food. The staff is very friendly and it is clean. I have purchased four different items from them so far on different occasions and two were home runs and the other two were so bad we actually threw them out. The worst so far was chicken pot pie, it had a weird taste which after guessing we are assuming it was just too much thyme (hopefully). The potatoes chunks were not cooked through and were crunchy. They were skimpy on the chicken and the top crust was puffed pastry and not a buttery pie crust. That ended up in the garbage. The other fail was

I was looking for some places that had last-minute appetizers or hors d'oeuvres for a party I had the next day. Looking for a miracle I knew it was a short time but I still was looking for decent options that weren't just pigs in a blanket or quiche cups. I chose this place because the menu offered a large variety and options that didn't contain pork for my guest. They were able to give me a list of options that were pork less and travel friendly .I ordered the apricot chicken salad with fillo cups and the Grilled Vegetables with balsamic aioli focaccia flat bread.

I've been here a couple of times and the food is fine but not great. It's very expensive, so expensive that you really could just get take out from a local restaurant and have the food already hot for you when you get home. To spend over $40 on one main dish and a couple of sides, and then still have to go home and cook it all, and then wash all the pots I had to use, is sort of annoying.

I believe they are moving to Rocky Hill, so I probably won't go out of my way to go to that location. It was never a regular stop for me, every couple of years I would go out of desperation

Being a gluten intolerant person, I am absolutely disgusted with myself because it took me so long to visit this gluten free paradise. A good friend told me about the amazing food that she was getting here, so I had to check it out!

They have an array of tasty items, from salads to main courses (BBQ pulled pork, curry chicken salad) to side dishes (grilled vegetables, cranberry apple quinoa) to frozen gf pizza dough and pastas. They even have pre-made gf cookies for dessert! The specials change monthly, but there is always a delicious quinoa special and many main courses and side dishes to choose

Got very ill after eating an overpriced and flavorless seafood risotto. I can't blame anything else because I'm in a strict diet for weightlifting, this was a cheat meal for a special occasion.. My fault for thinking it "smelled like the sea". Guess it smelled like fish. I also don't appreciate being flirted with while I'm shopping for my Valentine's Day meal. Use this business for catering often at work and the food gets rave reviews every time!! It really is a home cooked meal! The chicken Marsala is delicious, awesome vegan and gluten free items, always something for everyone! The food is always seasoned perfectly. Sweet mashed potatoes are the only other kind I like besides my mothers! (Don't tell her!) I would highly recommend the pulled pork! Delicious! And the strawberry spinach salad is so good it's like eating candy!! The staff is extremely professional and great! A must!!

I wish I could write the noises of enjoyment that were made while eating our meal from La Piastra tonight. I had googled "gourmet to go near Middletown, CT" and La Piastra came up, I was looking for BBQ pulled pork and mac and cheese for my fiance and I as a kind of special at home dinner. Lo and behold, both of these items were available. I emailed Lauren before the shop opened to see if these items were available for the day and she replied almost immediately offering to put one of each aside for me to pick up later. Where to begin? Lauren the owner is a sweetheart and is a joy to work with. We recently used this caterer for a work function and the rave reviews just keep coming! John, her longtime chef is not only a great chef but he is organized and he arranges the food in a lovely fashion, not just thrown in the foil pans. Food looked as great as it tasted. Everything had a card with the name of the dish for the buffet which always helps.

La Piastra catered a brunch buffet for my wedding in September and we had about 30 guests. The reception went perfect and food was delicious! The chef prepared the food beautifully and our guests raved about the apps, brunch buffet, and desserts.

I cannot say enough great things about La Piastra's fresh and absolutely delicious food. I work right around the corner and this has been one of my go-to lunch spots for a year and a half now. Everything is made from scratch, super fresh ingredients and not once have I ever had a complaint about anything that I have gotten. Some of my all time favorites: stuffed bell peppers, spicy black bean and walnut burger, their potato salad (seriously, amazing), and just recently their lettuce wraps. OMG. The lettuce wraps. I can say confidently that I have never had lettuce wraps this good anywhere

I feel like I have something to do every single night of the week. Its hard to get a home cooked meal on the table while holding down a demanding full time job and juggling after school activities! I am so glad that I stumbled into La Piastra a few years ago. Now when things get too busy, I don't feel guilty about not being able to cook. There is no need to stop for greasy fast foods any more. I can pick up soups and salads.. a variety of already prepared meals that satisfy myself and my picky 7 yr old daughter (WHO LOOOOVVVEEESSS Not your mamas meatloaf btw) I HIGHLY recommend this

My wife picked up some food for valentines dinner because we both work during the day, and I had some meetings later last night and she didn't want to spend all night cooking.

The convenience factor is definitely there, however, the portion sizes are small for the price.

$16 for approx 2 cups of seafood risotto, which had maybe 4 31-40ct shrimp, and a handful of bay scallops.

$6 for butternut squash soup, roughly 12 oz.

The food was tasty and reasonably fresh. But if i wanted to drop $22, i'm pretty sure I could find a restaurant to serve me soup & risotto for that price, and

This place has quality take out, but none of the selections really get me me wanting to come back often. The staff is very friendly, and offers samples when you walk in. Your meal prices can add up quickly, and I often find that after purchasing salad, meal, sides, and entree's, it's almost double the price of most local restaurants.

What a find! My sister-in-law introduced me to this wonderful food right after we brought our baby home from the hospital and cooking dinner was out of the question. I just wish we lived closer so it could truly become our go-to food for those nights we don't feel like cooking. Everything --- from salmon with orzo and spinach salad -- to the specials like crab stuffed sole to all the sides are prepared in a way that heating them up at home cooks them to the perfect taste. La Piastra is an oasis in a desert of fast food in Cromwell. Why would you want to eat a #2 from McDonalds or KFC when you can stop in at La Piastra to get homecooked food that is tasty, good for you (they carry gluten free items), and wonderful all around!

Lisa, the owner, is almost always in there greeting you at the door with a sample of some of their items. I almost always end up buying whatever the sample is.

Word of the wise, if you haven't had their apricot chicken salad it is a must for lunch!
