While conventional MRI scanners are a cylinder shape, an open MRI does not completely surround your body. It eliminates the tunnel design of a traditional MRI, replacing it with a scanner that is open on all sides. The design of it allows patients to see outside and around the machine and is used to accommodate claustrophobic, obese, and pediatric patients.
Computerized Tomography (CT or CAT) scans use a thin X-ray beam to get images of your organs, bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues. The origin of the word "tomography" is from the Greek word "tomos" meaning "slice" or "section" and "graphe" meaning "drawing. It produces cross-sectional images or "slices" of anatomy which are used for a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

I've been coming here for my imaging care for at least 10 years, and never had a bad experience. The staff is professional and patient, which tough when every patient is anxious and some quietly hysterical. They handle them well, from what I've seen, as every test, even just a regular annual mammogram, forces people to confront their mortality.
