I had been suffering from complications from undiagnosed and undertreated Lyme disease for many years. I came to Grace perpetually sick, tired, depressed, and with chronic back pain and numbness. Western medicine doctors shrugged their shoulders and didn't know what to do except send me from one specialist to the next taking endless tests that showed everything was "normal". From my first meeting with Grace, it was clear that she was sympathetic, concerned, and saw all my conditions as related. I saw her weekly or biweekly for acupuncture treatment nearly a year and used her special blends of herbs

One of the first things my acupuncturist Dr. Gao told me was stressing about getting pregnant will be a huge block in our efforts. After my third session I felt that acu-high I had read about. Dr. Gao guided me through the stress and anxiety and worked on fertility points. Two months in, I wasn’t taking any medicine for anxiety. Three months after that I found out I was pregnant. The pandemic started and I felt the absence of acupuncture pretty quickly. Now that I’m back I’m feeling the effects sparking back and more at ease that I have an outlet again. I’m so happy to be back and AOCM

I find Dr. Hui (Grace) Gao to be deeply committed to the progress of her patients. She uses a variety of modalities that mutually support each other and is thoughtful in the progression of treatment, considering the desires and limitations of the patient. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. At this time of COVID-19, her office is thoroughly cleaned between patients and each patient is screened the day before the visit and in the waiting room before entering the office. I see Dr. Gao as a true healer.

I hadn’t been able to run in about a year after having two hip surgeries, but after working with Dan for 2 months l am getting back into running and working out! I can actually enjoy myself instead of being worried about causing myself more pain. After about 8 months getting treatments every 2 weeks, I am back to living my life the way I want to. If you’ve never tried acupuncture, I’d definitely recommend it with Dan

Acupuncturist Dan Zal has helped me (sciatica, tendinitis, jaw pain) my sons (back, neck, hip pain), my husband (lower back pain, kidney pain, stress), and friends (runner, aikido instructor, massage therapist).
He is a superior listener, does not waste time, is responsive, and always fits us in to his busy schedule. His prices are well within reasonable and he accepts insurance.
Dan delivers on his promises, or he simply doesn't promise.
I have been to other acupuncturists in the Capital area and in Boston and I most highly recommend Dan as the best of them all, hands down.

I have seen Dan for a variety of issues. Most recently I asked about treatment for an overactive bladder. Like many aging men I have found myself getting up at might with increasing frequency to urinate. With acupuncture my night time trips to the bathroom have decreased substantially. I have been getting treatment on a monthly schedule for over a year now and the improvement has remained pretty consistent. It's not perfect, but the quality of my sleep is hugely improved
