Drain the water heater first, then while the hose is still attached, open and close the inlet valve a few times to help flush the sediment out. Do this until the water comes out clean. You may have to dismantle the valve if large chunks of scale are coming loose. With the anode out, shine a flashlight inside the tank to inspect for rust.

We had a leaking water pressure regulator, which started after having concrete work done. I had ordered the parts online from a big box store and was planning to rebuild the regulator myself. After waiting ten days for delivery, I finally called to check on the status. I kept getting a "your delivery is being prepared" message. It took three days to get through and they told me my delivery was being prepared.

I have used Ray May Plumbing several times now and can't say enough good things. Steve in the office goes out of his way to be helpful, whether answering basic questions or finding something no other big box stores carry. Their technician Alex is professional, prompt and has always treated my house as if it was own. They are straight shooters with old school customer service you just don't find anymore. Absolutely can't go wrong with Ray May Plumbing!

I've been a loyal customer of Ray May Plumbing for nearly a decade. They are thorough, professional, fast, and are fairly priced. Anything they have installed or done in my house has lasted. They also have been good about suggesting the timetable of certain kinds of maintenance, such as clearing the pipes draining the washing machine (dog hair can clog it up and cause a backup).

I cannot recommend this business enough. I have been in search for a part that was missing from our shower since we moved in to our new home a few years ago. The single piece that was missing is not sold separately and therefore I would have had to spend a lot more than necessary just to replace the handle that was somehow un-screwed and misplaced. I was recommended RayMay plumbing by my usual plumber. He told me to call and ask for Tom. Not only did Tom go way above and beyond to help us track down the missing piece, but he ended up calling a rep who was able to unscrew the piece from a floor

This is my first experience at this establishment and I am thoroughly impressed. I do some plumbing but I'm no expert by any means and Tom behind the counter was very helpful. The store is beautiful, clean and well laid out. And the customer service is the best I've ever had in a plumbing store and I've been to quite a few of them. Tom is very knowledgeable and generous with that knowledge. My best experiences at these places are when I learn something new. That was certainly the case this time. I highly recommend Ray May Plumbing.
