Kathak Dance is one of eight forms of Indian classical dance. This dance style can trace its origins all the way back to the nomadic bards of ancient northern India, known as Kathakars or storytellers. The name Kathak dates back thousands of years to the ancient Sanskrit language and translates to "Story" and a Kathaka in Sanskrit means roughly "he or they who tells a story."

Services
The Nrityodaya Kathak Academy, of Los Angeles, United States of America, established in 1989, is a sanctuary of the arts devoted to preserving the culture of Kathak dance and classical Indian art. The founder and director of the academy, Smt. Bhairavi Kumar, began her formal training in the Institution of Pt Nikhil Gosh under the guidance of Smt.
Bhairavi Kumar and her dance troop will be performing at the SAP Center in San Jose CA as part of an Event kicking off Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to California. This mode enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
We have been driving from San Diego to Walnut every week for the past 6-7 years so that my daughter can learn Kathak from Bhairaviji, and it is worth every moment of it. She is an amazing kathak teacher, very caring and very thorough. She is a fantastic human being and if I were to do this all over, I sure would.
