While we will never format or delete data without letting you know first, we cannot be held liable for data lost while attempting repairs.

Services
At Centex Computers we provide first level backups and diagnostics. We charge a flat rate of $100. If you have a hardware issue requiring a cleanroom we can refer you. Our data policy for repairs requires your understanding and consent that we are not liable for any lost data, and that you the customer are responsible for backing up your own data!

Trying to get a hand-me-down iMac set-up was taking way too much of my time stopping down to google every question about updating OS and email accounts. Decided to call CenTex, dropped the computer off at 5p and next day at 11a everything I asked to get done was done with a lot of tips and reassurance to call with ANY questions. Easy & friendly!

Took my computer in for repairs. But, sadly, it was hopeless. However I was sold a new HP at a great price. The new compute was stripped of all of the hype programming, and crazy offers you get when you usually buy a computer retail. It was a very good buy with a 1 year warranty. And, I was able to buy locally.

I called hoping that Centex Computers was still operational during this virus situation. Happy to get a cheerful response from Jeff with whom I arranged to drop off my wife's computer and discuss the problem. He had an excellent solution to the extremely slow computer and I had it back in my hands within 48 hours (mostly just waiting for a part to arrive). When she started it up at home, she was extremely pleased with the speed and performance that she had not seen in some time. Kudos to Jeff. He was the perfect guy for my issues. He struck me as very knowledgeable and extremely capable. No fear

I can't speak for his software skills, but if you need a screen replaced on a touch screen laptop, run for the hills!
The level of professionalism is minimal. He asked me to order the part he needed for it. He emailed me a link, I ordered it, expedited shipping directly to his address.
When he called me in to pick it up, I was beyond disappointed. He failed at putting it back together, after he connected the new screen (new screen did work). The entire touchscreen was loose from the case. He told me I could "put super glue, or duct tape it

If i could rate this a negative 6 i would! i brought my computer in because my charging port is not working it took him a whole week and almost a half to call and tell me that " it could be one of two parts or both or its the mother board but he wouldnt know unless they both fixed " that was my diagnostic. then charged me $25 over it for half an hour he said. i tried picking up my computer for almost 2 weeks and he was never there at the office i had to have one of the ladies there to open his office for my computer. When i dropped off my computer it would still turn on when i plugged

I will have to say this shop knows what it is doing when it comes to what is needed to keep your computer tech running correctly. Ive used them twice now and on each occasion they were able to promptly diagnose and let me know up front the costs to fix so that I could make a decision. Each time it led me to have them repair my tower. I will probably use them exclusively for repair as long as they continue.

There should be clear communication about the cost of work before the work is done. I was told diagnostic was free and was offered to have my hard drive transferred to my own external hard drive. So I brought it in thinking it was a courtesy measure since they couldn't do anything to fix my computer, and was not told there would be a charge. But when I picked up the computer I was charged $100. They were nice about it and willing to work with me but they're should have been clear communication to begin with.

I had to comment on a great experience getting my 7yr old laptop repaired! I thought for sure I would have to replace it, but Jeff got it running great, AND I was able to pick it up the SAME DAY! He loaded a solid anti-virus software program which is WAY better than the McAfee and Norton stuff. Hopefully good to go for another 7 !

Poor customer service and overpriced. I waited four days to get information off of an external hard drive. I also stopped by several times only to find the office closed for an undetermined length of time. A sign said 'out for an appointment' when actually he was out all day working in San Antonio. When I could finally pick up the external I was shocked that he charged me $100. for something that should have only taken less than an hour.
