Dr. Tamir Friedman did his radiology residency and interventional radiology fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was then an Assistant Professor at Weill-Cornell University College of Medicine specializing in deep and superficial venous disease, oncology and women's interventions. Dr. Friedman is dual board certified in diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.

Varicose veins are extremely common, affecting 80% of men and 85% of women. Varicose vein disease is unfortunately severely under diagnosed, which may be due to the belief that varicose veins represent an isolated cosmetic problem. Spider veins are the small red, blue or purple squiggly appearing lines which may appear anywhere on the skin and have a predilection for the legs and face and may appear unsightly as they are easily visualized through the skin. While a multitude of causes have been described for spider veins, the majority of people may attribute them to heredity, obesity or long hours standing on their feet - usually due to their jobs.
