Services
Middletown Vein & Aesthetic Center (MVAC) has been performing minimally invasive outpatient treatment for veins since 2005 as well as refined aesthetic and laser treatments. Our providers are patient-focused and spend quality time with each patient, answering questions and explaining which procedure is the right choice for you.
Endovenous Thermal Ablation (EVTA) is an alternative to varicose vein stripping that utilizes a thin fiber that is inserted into the abnormal saphenous vein through a small incision in your leg. EVTA can be accomplished with either radiofrequency heat (FastClosure) or laser energy (EVLT). Each system offers different advantages and disadvantages depending on severeral factors depending on your particular anatomy.
Phlebectomy is a method of removing large varicose veins through tiny incisions made along the course of the varicose vein. A special microsurgical instrument is used to tease out and remove segments of the varicose vein from your skin. The incisions are small (about one eighth of an inch) such that sutures are not required.
In the past, these veins may have required surgical stripping to remove. The doctor uses continuous ultrasound guidance to find the abnormal vein under your skin and safely injects the sclerosing agent directly into the vein, avoiding complications. As you can imagine, this requires extensive training and expertise.
Microsclerotherapy is the method of injecting an abnormal small (spider) vein on your skin with a solution that irritates the lining of the vein. This process causes the vein to eventually close and gradually disappear over time. It can be used to treat all sizes of veins but is primarily used to treat the small unsightly veins referred as "spider" veins.
