This was my first time recycling metal at a scrap yard. Despite the previous reviews I thought I would take a chance on Dixons metal recycling. I did not have alot of metal to recycle, but to my surprise I got more money back then I thought I would. I found the staff very helpful and polite. I had one customer ahead of me who was finishing up and my whole visit took maybe 20 minutes. I have seen, first hand, this place deal with and pay obvious DRUG ADDICTS with stolen catalytic converters in hand. At one time, they had a sign up front that clearly said that they buy catalytic converters and copper wire. Dixson is contributing to crime so I suggest you take your business to Drayton Iron and Metal. That business does not buy catalytic converters and they pay more, too.

I have caught these people three times write down a false weight. The scale is right there for you to see and the weight they deduct is on the skid or crate you are using. So be sure to take your calculator in with you and verify what they write down is correct. Some guys are nice some guys are rough around the edges.
