The Dehner
The boots that would grow to be known worldwide for their incredible fit and fantastic look had their beginnings in 1875 in the small town of Junction City, Kansas. It was there, in a small German shoe repair shop, that Carlton C. Dehner first noticed a pair of boots sitting in the back room. Dehner was so taken by the quality and workmanship of the boots he asked, "Why don't we put in a factory and make these more available?"

John Teitzel, the cobbler who owned the small store, was open to the idea and so the Dehner boot line began. Teitzel was not much of a business man, and at that time Dehner had very little experience working with shoes, but the two formed a perfect partnership. Dehner would handle the business side of the operation, while Teitzel would continue to do what he did best: make boots!
Services
You were very perceptive in your TV watching - that particular pair of field boots are older than the Jeep Barbara found so scroungy. As you know, I've been a wearer of Dehner boots for the greatest share of my adult life. In fact, I only strayed once; I was in England in 1949 and had a pair made by Maxwell - then bootmaker to the King.
The Dehner Company prides itself on personal service and a commitment to achieving the best possible fit for every customer. One of the ways we do this is by meeting directly with our dealers and loyal customers who expect just a bit more from a Dehner boot. Our president, Jeff Ketzler, spends all year traveling the world with the intention of putting a personal connection behind your boots, and he may be coming to a store or event near you!
Dehner craftsmen want to make your boots according to your individual needs and desires. When filling out your order form, please take the time to tell us in minute detail the options you want for your custom made boots. To help you decide, we have listed many of our popular customizations below. A compromise of the first two options.
Do you have any foot problems like bunions, swelling, corns, calluses, or any bones in the foot or ankle that have been broken in the past? Please note this in the remarks area of the order form. Whenever possible always have a friend for family member measure for you as this will produce much more accurate results.
Although there is no substitution for actually feeling the leather between your fingers, we have done our best to describe our leather selections in detail to help you make the most informed choice possible. Imported from the finest tanneries Europe, our imported calfskin has a soft velvety feel. A beautiful hand-rubbed finish makes the calfskin leather the top choice for dress boots, but can be worn for most any occasion.

Have known of Dehner for many years via family and friends of past who had Dehner boots for their English riding works. They were always considered the optimum hunt/jump boot. Finally, after too many years, I stopped in to inquire of getting dress shoes made. I was measured and had beautiful kangaroo leather shoes about 2 months later. They actually arrived yesterday. All requests were done and the fit is perfection. Construction quality is beautiful and will be a durable and wonderful shoe to enjoy many miles. I will have more done here, absolutely.
