Services
During our closure we researched extensively to find the necessary steps to keep our patients and staff safe. Due to the size of our waiting room we are requesting only one adult (non-patient) be present in the waiting room with their child (patient). If this is not possible please call us to make arrangements.
Dr. Maile Kim was born and raised in Kailua, Hawai'i. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Pacific Union College and upon graduation decided to follow in her father's footsteps Dr. Howard Y.B. Kim and pursue a career in dentistry. She says, I learned the value of caring for others by seeing him 'talk story' with his patients.
Communication: We believe the key to a good relationship is open and honest communication with the child as well as with parents or guardians. Conservative Treatment: We believe in minimally invasive treatment and only providing dental interventions that are necessary and in the best interest of the child.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
Most pediatric dentists will agree that regular dental care should begin by one year of age, with a dental check-up at least twice each consecutive year for most children. Some children may need more frequent evaluations and care. Follow the schedule of dental examinations and cleanings, as recommended by your child's pediatric dentist.

I’ve gone to a previous “pediatric” dentist, which was far from welcoming. This children’s dentist is out of our way but most definitely worth the drive! They’re very welcoming and also VERY good with the… children! We love Nalu too 💕 Having a dog inside makes it 100x better too because it helps my kids relax a bit and get their mind off of why they’re really there. I would most definitely recommend 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

My daughter recently had her first dentist appointment to with Dr. Kim and it went so smoothly.
Aside from the obvious crying when laying her down for a cleaning, Dr. Kim was so gentle and kind and he was great about allowing her to cry so he could get her teeth polished. He was not forceful or annoyed with it. Which made my husband and I all the more comfortable about him being our daughters dentist. After her quick exam, Dr. Kim talked to us for a bit to get to know our family. Never have I had that before with a dentist. Usually I get, "OK you're done see you in 6 months." Dr

I took my infant son in today for a consultation on a possible lip tie, he was able to identify that it was a lip tie and tongue tie immediately and used a laser to correct the problem quickly. Dr. Kim was professional, knowledgeable, but also very kind. He took great care with my son and called later in the day to check on us. Highly recommend.

My children first started off with Dr.Lily Geyer and not only were they traumatized but us as parents were as well.We were so skeptical about finding a new dentist.Low and behold we found Dr.Howard Kim and I have to say he is AMAZING!!!!!!! He took all my worries away and reassured my husband and I that everything he's doing will only benefit my children.He acts more like family then just a dentist.His style is exactly what made my kids feel so comfortable.He definitley has a local style.With Dr.Lily Geyer my children were never able to stay still and she never ever comforted them with anything
