Edwin Marin is a professional tattoo artist and native Angelino - owner of EVOL ARTS STUDIO located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Just about every kid draws as a child but only 1.4 percent never stop and are driven to be artists. He's been drawing since early childhood, tattooing for 15 years and oil painting on and off for over 30 years.
In addition he's worked in a few well respected LA tattoo shops alongside a number of exceptionally talented world class tattooers that have been a major influence. Every tattoo he designs takes on his unconventional imagination, experience and craftsmanship to bring your concept to life. I am an LA Artist a Tattoo Artist born and bred in Los Angeles with decades of creative experience - drawing since I can pick up a crayon, creating murals on school desks and oil painting by the age of 20. I knew at a truly early age I would be completely covered in tattoos. In elementary school I'd come home with my arms totally sleeved with reapers and monsters drawn on with an ink pen.

If you are looking for a great artist…you’ve come to the right place!!!
Edwin is a brilliant artist even before he is a brilliant tattoo artist.
I came to him with a rough idea of what I wanted (wait…who am I kidding?…it wasn’t even a rough idea. All I knew is I wanted a geometric pattern and an Owl. Great guidance, huh?)
With that…he was able to sketch up Exactly the perfect piece for me!! I love that this was totally custom (as are all of his designs if I’m not mistaken)
His shop is immaculately clean and comfortable. Edwin has a light touch and a very friendly & calm personality

Working in the industry (17+ yrs) as a photographer & editor for an international tattoo art publication I feel I have a good eye for great artist. Edwin at Evol Arts Studio, in my opinion, is one of the best artist in the LA area. When my daughter came of age and wanted her first tattoo we went straight to Evol - the custom drawing was so beautiful we decided to both get it. The art work that Edwin did for us is incredibly detailed and solid. Highly recommend to the point that I have friends on the east coast that loved his work so much that they flew to LA just to have work done by Edwin.

Edwin is awesome. I have cptsd. He is patient caring kind. He is a true artist. I requested certian tattoos. Not only did he made it amazing . He also made it perfect . He takes his time and truly thinks of how he can make even more beautiful. He helps me feel comfortable and safe. I will definitely be back for more to come.

Edwin is a true artist! He can bring to life any idea or concept you have. All of his work is original. He creates a great creative atmosphere to discuss and develop the art piece you are getting and has a private comfortable laid back studio that makes the exeperience first class. Great work and excellent attention to details. Got my very first tattoo from him and never stopped from there, he has done my whole sleeve and I couldn’t be any happier with the results. I went to many tattoo artist before I picked Evol Arts Studio- the environment is awesome and since day one made me feel welcomed, non-snobby environment, totally recommend!!

Very cool place and a lot of cool art around you while you are getting art on your body 😉 If you want amazing ink, you gotta check out Evol Arts Studio and I promise you won’t stop there, you will want more. It took me 20 years to decide what kind of Tatoo I wanted and it took another 12 years to find Evol Art Studio. My friend got a tatoo that I thought was breathtaking and I knew who I wanted. At 63 years old, I finally got the tatoo I’ve wanted for so long and a month later, went back for another.
This is one extremely talented artist. I can’t say enough about him. I told him my idea and ended up with the same idea with a much better design. I have no regrets and plan on making another appointment with Edwin. I finally have “my tattoo guy

I was lucky enough to find Edwin while on a business trip to LA. He did two awesome tattoos for me. Incredible artist! I highly recommend him and will probably use him exclusively for all my future tattoos - even though I live in Atlanta, GA. That should say something!
