When the crystalline lens of the eye becomes cloudy and opaque, it's called a cataract. Cataracts often cause blurry vision, glare in bright lights, difficulty reading and driving, and poor night vision. Cataracts are treated through a surgery involving foldable lens implants. Recently, we have witnessed major advances in cataract surgery technology.
Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness in the USA. Diabetic retinopathy refers to the damage caused by bleeding and the swelling in the back portion of the eye. We provide several types of surgical treatments for diabetic retinopathy. It is extremely important that diabetic patients receive regular eye exams and exercise good control over their diabetes.

By far one of the most expensive and frustrating experience ever! I went in back in March for a diabetic eye exam paid a lot out of pocket for it and other “needed” exams was told some worrisome things and was given an appointment to follow up and have a different exam that I “needed” 3 weeks later, when I showed up for my appointment with the card they gave me with time and date I was told they didn’t have me on the schedule, showed them my card and she asked me to wait closed the window came back told they were having system issues and had messed with the scheduling and asked me to

Had an appointment a week prior to Thanksgiving week,its now going on a month called multiple times to fallow up with an appointment evaluation front desk girls keep promising to call my insurance to see if it will cover and will "call back first thing the next day" went in side 3 weeks after was told their main priority are their schedule guest yet what am I? Just a horrible place wonder how long it will take for them to fallow up with me and schedule a fallow up 😒🤦♀️

Doctor spent less than 2 minutes with me. His staff determined the new RX for my glasses. I could not see the bottom line, she kept having me guess. I would guess 3-4 times, finally figure out each of the 5 letters and she would record it as, perfect 5 out of 5 20/20 vision. She did this on each eye, both eyes together. Had to guess each time and when I finally guessed it, she marked it as perfect. I went in there as my reading is getting difficult. No one even tested that and my new RX shows the exact same RX (for reading) as it did before

I came to Dr. Rugwani due to a medical condition and was extremely nervous and quite scared! Dr. Rugwani and his staff calmed my fears and clearly explained everything to me. Even when I needed surgery for my vision, I was completely reassured of the surgical and recuperatory process. My eyesight is extremely precious to me and I won't trust just anyone to treat my eyes. Dr Rugwani is the best doctor in Ellis county. I cannot say enough good things about this man. He takes so much pride in his work and his patients. He is very caring, very attentive and very funny. I have wore glasses for the last seven years and now thanks to Dr Rugwani I only have to wear them when I read small print. I have seen a different eye doctor every two years for the last 7 because I was never satisfied with the care I received from them. Well I have finally found my forever eye doctor! Dr. Rugwani doesn't have a flashy office (which shows that he's not about his 'image' as much as he's about great service)...however he has great staff who explain things well and they care about helping their patients. They aren't dismissive like other optometrist's staff is. He did in one attempt what others failed to do in several. LOVE this doctor!!!

I am new to Texas and starting over is hard. All Eye Care is great! Dr. Rugwani diagnosed me and told me what to do, and I feel better already! His assistants are professional and polite. I've been going to this office for 6 years. The first visit, I wasn't used to the doctor and he was a little short, not really rude. He never spoke over my head or acted like I didn't know anything. The staff was great.
My second visit was better because I knew what to expect and he also had improved and wasn't as "short" when communicating. I keep going and feel very comfortable with his knowledge and ability.

If there was a way to give this JOKE of a Opthalmology Office NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. Starting with how my wife on June 11th had an appointment at 10:45 am and did not get seen until 1:30 pm. REALLY??? They took all the needed tests, and did a FULL EYE EXAM. Then to have the " EYE SPECIALIST Dr. Rajiv Rugwani " inform us that she will need to be seen by another "SPECIALIST" , then to charge us triple our office co-pay to $180.00. I DONT THINK SO... The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the sign that says he does not shake hands because of germs. I was immediately turned off by the sign, but the appointment was for my grandmother, not myself, so we stayed. So all in all, Rugwani was very friendly. He treated my grandmother very well, as well as all of his staff. The cataract surgery for her went spectacularly in both eyes, as well as the recovery. I would highly recommend him to anyone, just don't shake his hand ha. Awesome staff also!
