About a year and a half ago, I underwent multiple surgeries for a blood clot that developed in my left arm that left me with lymphedema, nerve damage and general loss of strength with doctors saying you probably won't be able to lift more than 10 pounds over your head ever again. A year after surgery, I wanted to get back into shape again but didn't know how or where - that's when I found Tina and Balanced Barre.

I've been going to Balanced Barre for four years now and still look forward to going each time. The clients are friendly and fun. Tina, the owner, is an amazing instructor who welcomes everyone in to her studio, no matter their age, fitness level or experience. No two classes are the same and she offers unique classes like Bounce, combining a rebounder with barre moves for a cardio workout. You should give it a try!

What a great workout! I bought a package to BB after a yelp event a few months ago. I have been able to try the Barre Amped class and the one with cardio. The cardio class was defiantly harder but they both really push you. It was nice to go to a class that was different than the standard yoga or gym strength training. I shake every time so I know it is working.
The atmosphere is great as well. All of the instructors keep the class upbeat and have great music pumping. The classes are never too crowded and there is no judgment.
Scheduling is amazing with BB. Buying packages and signing

Going to class at Balanced Barre has become as fundamental to my weekend routine as say... eating or sleeping. That is how phenomenal this place is.
Barre fitness at it's core is a combination of yoga, pilates, and strength training that utilizes the ballet barre to assist with alignment as you sculpt and tone your entire body. An amazing workout that is accessible to people of all ability levels! I'm obsessed.
Now on to the specifics that make Balanced Barre so special. It was recently opened last November by Tina, who has been teaching pilates for a long time and has wanted

I'm always looking for a good workout and boy did I find it! I joined the Yelp Fit Club Barre class on Sunday my first time. I'm still sore 4 days later, but in a "Wow I didn't know I had a muscle there kind of way".
The instructor was great, she does corrections in form and positioning quietly so nobody knows. The studio is very clean no pebbles stick to your feet. I will be going back.

I have been taking Barre classes in LA for three years now and I can say Tina's classes are as good if not better then any class I have taken in California. Tina is such an amazing teacher, constantly motivating me to work harder. I always leave feeling my experience was better then I was looking for, and am reminded the next day when my muscles are sore. Its not easy to continue to push athletic students who have a solid workout and continue to find places they can feel the muscles getting stronger. Music is great, location is super easy to find and get to. There is always parking right

I recently learned about barre classes in the Trib: http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/135452903.html and I was really intrigued, so when I saw a Groupon offer last week, I purchased it. I experienced my first BarreAmped class today! And to think...I thought my yoga classes were a workout! I may not sweat as much in a barre class, but holy pain in my derrière!!! I was a dancer in my younger years, so I felt right at home at the barre, but still found the class to be difficult (in a good way). Barre is a blend of yoga, pilates & ballet--the perfect combo to nurture a strong, lean body.
