Services
Diablo Assessments serves employers throughout Northern and Central California for independent evaluations such as: Fitness for Duty evaluations (FFDE). Our health professionals are licensed MD's and PhD's who are able to assess severity in a given case without compromising confidentiality unnecessarily.
Note - For the purpose of this article I am addressing "dementia" in general. Alzheimer's Disease is the most common type of dementia. By definition, dementia is a progressive decline in mental functioning, usually due to a disease process. My mother started showing signs of dementia in her mid to late 70's.
Graduate school admission tests (GMAT, GRE, LSAT, TOEFL, IELTS) often will allow 50% more time for test taking if you can prove you have a need for accommodations. Needs may include learning disability (dyslexia), emotional reason (anxiety), or attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD). People who have never been in any form of special education but have one of these disorders can get tested by a psychologist to see if they can qualify.
