Having already decided to become an acupuncturist, Desiree Sale began her career in healthcare as a First Responder and then EMT at Alfred University in New York's Southern Tier. At Alfred, Desiree earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and Biology. Immediately after her undergraduate study, she attended the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City where she earned her Master's in Acupuncture.
Desiree's clinical training was at the Yu Wen Acupuncture Clinic in Manhattan, and at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, in an acupuncture for pain management study. While a student in acupuncture school, Desiree interned at HealthGuru.com contributing medical research and expertise as well as creating graphics for their educational health videos.

Services
It depends on the type, severity, and chronicity of the condition. Some new and acute conditions may only take one to three treatments to resolve. Other chronic and degenerative conditions need up to 5 treatments before seeing a significant change and around 10 for maximum benefit. After the initial treatment phase, maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 weeks are recommended.
We understand that things come up, but we have an active waiting list. If you need to reschedule, please provide us with at least 24 hours notice, or you will be subject to a $25 late cancellation fee. It is our policy to verify everyone's insurance benefits. If we are unable to for any reason, you will be responsible for the full cost of your treatment at the time of service.

I suffer from acute anxiety compounded by panic attacks. Have done physiatry and therapy and it helped. But, COVID literally paralyzed me, I'd shake from head to toe and my legs wouldn't work! My docs wanted to drug me. Thank God a friend suggested acupuncture and I found Desiree! She is informative, compassionate and absolutely fantastic. After a month of treatments, I have my life back. I will never stop going to Desiree!

It has been a great experience here. I would highly recommend to anyone. I really feel heard and cared for when I'm there and my issues are being resolved fully. It's very welcoming as well. As a first time acupuncture user, I was given great information and the space to ask questions. Everyone is very nice and helpful especially Ms Sale and also her office staff.

I've had many experiences with acupuncturists and I must say my experience with Kayla Woods LAc was top notch! She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I'm not a fan of needles by any means and always become anxious before a treatment. Kayla was so gentle with applying needles, I had no idea they were even being applied. She kept me cool and collected even when placing treatment needles in areas I'd expect them to be painful and uncomfortable. After a great session she then did some cupping to other areas which were bothering me. Let me tell you this, if you never had cupping done

Desiree is the best, I can't recommend her highly enough. She helped me with pain and mobility issues leading up to 2 hip surgeries (and immediately following), and I was amazed at the results. Des treated me when she was practicing in Greece a few years ago. I needed her again as a few things are now bothering me and I liked her approach, professionalism, and knowledge just to name a few! Desiree is an intuitive and skillful acupuncturist. She takes her practice seriously and has a deep sense of compassion and empathy. Treatments with her are pleasant and effective. Definitely the best acupuncturist I have ever seen, and would absolutely recommend for all. I wish she lived local to me and could be my regular practitioner - unfortunately that is not the case - but every time I am in Rochester, I make it a point to schedule an appointment.
