Services
Our mission is to empower you to regain your pelvic health and wellness by providing holistic and evidence-based physical therapy services in westchester. Dr. Amruta Inamdar consults at her private practice and is associated with Armonk Physical Therapy and Sports training. Treatment sessions are 1 on 1 for 55 - 60 minutes.
Inability of the pelvic floor muscles to function at their optimal level can affect the bladder and bowel function. Pelvic floor muscle weakness could cause urinary and/ or fecal incontinence ( loss of urine beyond your control). Sometimes the pelvic floor muscles are unable to relax to their baseline tension/ remain clenched and may cause difficulty with effective evacuation of your bowels causing constipation and related conditions.
Musculoskeletal pain - Pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that support the lower side of your pelvis, running from the tailbone to the pubic bone. These muscles play many roles in the body including supporting the spine, controlling the bladder and bowel, organ support, and sexual function.
Pelvic floor muscles are very similar to other muscles in the body. These are relatively tiny muscles and so any deviation from their normal function can often cause pelvic pain and discomfort. Pelvic pain often presents a bit differently and can be experienced as vaginal, rectal, clitoral, testicular, or penile pain.
It is not uncommon to experience pain and discomfort during pregnancy. The body is rapidly changing with the growth of your fetus and that puts the joints ligaments and tendons under significant stress. Coupled with these changes are various hormonal changes that make your body lax and susceptible to injury.

Your video is explained so perfectly making it super easy to understand and follow. There is no confusion about want the patient needs to do. After. one hour of looking at electrical products, vaginal weights, creams and what-not, I found the simplest, cheapest, and easiest method to solve my issue. Exercise the muscles as you’ve explained. Thank you.

Can’t imagine a more pleasant and wonderful experience for an issue that is anything but and embarrassing, as well. Amruta is thoughtful, kind, caring and treats the issue and the person at the same time. In fact, I don’t think I would have ever come back if she wasn’t who she was given the issue at hand. And an issue that may have only been potentially 80 percent corrective was 100 percent so with her expertise. Run don’t walk and you won’t be sorry!

After suffering with pudendal nerve pain for over five years, seeing several doctors and trying multiple medications, I found Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist Dr. Amruta Inamdar. Dr. Inamdar listened carefully to my medical history and knew exactly where my issues were from the very start. Amruta is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the human body and the pelvic floor. She's patient and caring, sweet and has a lovely bedside manner. She's helped me conquer a debilitating chronic pain that was destroying the quality of my life. I could not ask for a better Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist
