The North Bay's only non-profit studio, Contessi Ballet offers instruction in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Pas de Deux, Modern, Jazz, Tap, conditioning and more for children and adults of all ages. Contessi Ballet is focused on technique and artistry. We are proud to offer instruction across a variety of dance mediums by many former and current professional dancers.

We typically hold two to three performances per year, including a spring showcase and a full-length Nutcracker production open to dancers of all levels.

Services
Ballet classes are taught for levels I-VI and pre-intermediate through advanced. Students in levels I-VI build a foundation in classical technique and instruction in basic dance terminology. Classes above level VI build upon more advanced techniques, choreography, strength, musicality, and artistry.
Contessi Ballet offers instruction in classical ballet, contemporary dance, pas de deux, and pointe. Marcella Contessi-Smith founded the Contessi Ballet School and the North Bay Performing Arts Center over 40 years ago. We have highly talented, professionally trained and experienced teachers in the performing arts.
As a non-profit organization, North Bay Performing Arts Association is committed to providing affordable and accessible dance opportunities for all. Tuition is paid on a monthly basis, and varies based on the level of instruction the dancer is enrolled in and the number of classes attended per week.
Contessi Ballet has been performing the holiday classic for over 40 years. This year, our production, entitled "Clara's Enchanted Dream, The Land of Sweets" featured an original storyline and new choreography. Each year, Contessi Ballet puts on a showcase featuring shorter works of classical ballet and original contemporary pieces.

(I am only reviewing Contessi's Adult Division classes, not their Youth Division...) Great selection of adult ballet classes, both in the mornings and in the evenings. Classes range from beginner, intermediate, to an advanced company class. They also offer adult pointe, pas de deux (in the company), and allow adults to perform in their twice yearly shows, which is a huge plus! Beautiful studio located in the old Penngrove train depot.
