The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and both beginning and more experienced students learn easily to navigate simple but memorable dance routines around the ballroom floor. Step lists are provided so students can practice at home in their leisure time, as well as video recordings.

There are currently no group classes scheduled but you are welcome to start your own group! Helen Andrade has taught at Harvest Christian, Mary Collins at Cherry Valley, Dunham Middle School and Parks and Rec Centers throughout Marin and Sonoma County. Please note: I am currently taking cash, checks and PayPal.
Private lessons are Penngrove at Contessi Ballet/North Bay Perfroming Arts Center Saturdays and some weeknights. Please call to confirm availability. Unlike a group class, in a private session we focus heavily on musicality, lead and follow, technique, floorcraft and styling.

I recently organized a series of private group dance lessons with Helen. It ended up being challenging trying to meet the scheduling needs of everyone but Helen worked hard to make it work for our group. She was very flexible and accommodating ! As for the lessons themselves, we all had a great time! Helen did a good job meeting the needs of the various skill levels. I definitely recommend Helen!

I wanted to do something different for my birthday and decided that learning how to swing dance would be a fun way to get my friends together. I found Helen Andrade through Steppin Out and she was so accommodating, making sure that the date and time for a private group lesson fit my schedule. We're all beginners but Helen had us dancing and swinging right away. It was so much fun! Helen is a great instructor; easy to follow, patient, and enthusiastic. It was so fun my husband and I just signed up for an 8-week swing class.

My husband and I chose to do a special dance for our 30th anniversary reception and attended 4 private lessons with Helen. Within a week and a half we had learned enough to "perform" to Remember When! Helen was patient, fit us into her busy schedule, and calmly adjusted our moves so we were comfortable. We had a lot of fun, even when there were moments our feet and brains were not coordinating smoothly. With lots of practice at home, our guests absolutely loved our love song and we look forward to continuing lessons in the near future. I'd highly recommend using Steppin&apos

My boyfriend and I were looking to learn swing and found Steppin Out Dance Studios had good reviews on Yelp. We are into our second month of lessons now and couldn't be happier. Helen teaches at a wonderfully comfortable pace. In four weeks, you will know the dance you're interested in. From night club two-step to swing to salsa, Helen knows them all!

Helen is not only an amazing dancer, but she's truly gifted at instruction.
Dance is something that people don't put much time and effort into learning these days, but I hope with great instructors like Helen there will be a revival in interest!

Steppin Out Dance Studios is by far the best dance studio in the area. Helen is truly a wonderful teacher as well as a professional who truly knows her stuff. Her skill in music is superior to most and her integrity, willingness to work with individuals is astonishing for those who have absolutely no skill in dancing to those who have had previous classes. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancer, Helen and Steppin Out Ballroom Dance Studios should be your first contact for learning or sharpening your dance skills.
