Over the past decade their bakery evolved from shipping to all 50 states, to focusing on a large local retail presence. Lisa worked alongside her mom from day one and was in charge of the entire cake department. She oversaw all the production, cake decorating, ordering, and customer service. Over time, our family recipe for Italian custard-filled cakes became an iconic dessert in the valley, serving celebrities, politicians, and public figures.
Kelly met Lisa while catering part-time for extra money, in addition to his duties at his family's farm, Power Ranch. The two fell in love, said "I do, " and created the next generation of "rum cakers." Their three daughters grew up in the bakery from infancy. From local TV appearances, to attending catering parties for local celebrities, the girls grew to love and cherish the family business, and follow in their mom's and Mimi's footsteps.

Tiered/Stacked cakes are priced per person, starting at $7 + tax. If you are interested in single cakes, please search by the flavor(s) you are interested in for pricing. We are happy to work with your budget. For example, we can make a small stacked cake with side sheet cakes, instead of making one large stacked cake.
A. Each Lisa's Rum Cake is a moist, Italian custard-filled cake, elegantly covered in an Italian whipped cream frosting. Additionally, we are an "on-demand" bakery. No matter how far in advance you order, your cake will not be made until the day you need it. A. We do process flavors with nuts in our factory.

I had enjoyed Cathy's Rum Cakes for years. I had not had in a very long time. My husband surprised me with Lisa's Rum cake for my birthday. The cake was very cute, round cake with pink, purple and blue flowers and unicorn decor. I was very excited that he got me a Lisa's Rum Cake. I remember how delicious they were. This cake did not taste good. The taste was very off. It was a cream filled yellow cake with strawberries. There were 11 of us and no one ate their whole slice of cake. I came here in 2018 to get my boyfriend his birthday cake. His mom was a native Chandler resident and use to order cakes from Cathy. (I believe that is Lisa’s mom.) He was so surprised and excited to have a memory from his childhood. The cake was melt in your mouth amazing! The Italian whipped cream frosting is the perfect icing, not overly sweet like many cake frostings. . Ordered one for his birthday this past weekend and it was just as amazing as I had remembered. I used Lisa's Rum Cake for my 50 person wedding and I honestly don't recommend using her for a wedding. She had us order a two tier cake which ended up being way way way too much cake. We also ended up finding alternatives for decorating the cake because she was so difficult to coordinate with. The only decorating they did was to hold the knife against the cake and spin it, giving it that spiral design - which anyone could do. They offered to put the flowers on the cake for free but I would have to deliver the flowers to them the morning of my wedding. What bride is going to do that? They also

Divine cakes that are both beautiful and delicious! My family has been coming here for years and we are never disappointed. These Cake Cuts are chocolate, chocolate rum and peach amaretto. Lisa (?) was very polite and professional. I ordered the cannoli cake the day before my son’s birthday. The cake was eaten about 6 hrs later. It was moist and delicious. We loved everything except for the whipped cream frosting. Since the cake is stored in a paper box at the store, the frosting on the top of the cake tasted like cardboard. The entire family commented on this taste simultaneously after we finished our first bites! The taste was intense. The cake is phenomenal, so please consider placing them in a plastic container or higher quality box! Your cakes deserve it!

I mistakenly ordered my cake for 5/23 instead of 4/23 like I had intended. A month ahead!! If only I was that organized! Lisa offered me a similar cake intended for another customer to be picked up the next day and said she could bake a replacement later that day to help me out. This is probably the best cake I have ever eaten. I purchased one a little over a year ago for my husband’s birthday and it is the only cake we buy now. We just picked one up today because we are moving out of state and I HAD to have it one last time. The family that owns this place is about as sweet as their cakes. They are always a pleasure to speak with. The cannoli flavor is so delicious, I could probably live off of it. I would honestly, and confidently recommend this place to anyone.

Very underwhelmed is right, I thought I'd try something different for my sons birthday, (they made my wedding cake 25 years ago, and it was good) I saw they made smaller cakes for birthdays, they were rude on phone, tried to talk me into some I love you valentine cake cuts for his birthday, that looked unappetizing In The pic I pulled up, I ordered a overpriced cake pie that was horrible with no flavor, we threw the rest away, I was embarrassed for Lisa's rum cakes,because people at party said they themselves would never order from there, all The cake place did was make a bunch of

Lisa helped make our wedding day so special!! During covid, we exchanged our 90 person wedding for a smaller ceremony and backyard reception in Sedona! She is so sweet, she even talked me through a bridezilla meltdown on the phone just after making our decision! We were so lucky and blessed to be able to have such a beautiful day and our cake was the cherry on top!They made sure we knew how to transport it to Sedona so it would not melt in the car and it was so easy! Their cakes are absolutely amazing! They're my go to cake for special occasions and for work birthdays! I always order their Atomic Cake which has a layer of chocolate cake, yellow cake and red velvet with a custard and chocolate layer with bananas and strawberries! It's absolutely amazing! They even have Cake Cuts if you just want a slice or want to try out different types of cakes!

Ordered a butterbeer cake for my fiancée and my oh my it was sooo good!!! The cake was delicious! Not too sweet, just the right amount of creme and cake!!!! Also I want to add the moment I walked into Lisa's little shop it smelled amazing. You know these cakes were homemade by the feel and the smell of the shop. Was looking for something a little different for my wife's 50th birthday party. I took a risk and ordered a cake online from Lisa's Rum Cake. I had never tasted her products but they sounded excellent.
My wife is a big peanut butter cup fan, so I ordered the Peanut Butter and Chocolate cake.
That cake was so freeeak'n goood!!!
The cake was the talk of the party with everyone raving how great is was. My wife still claims it is the best cake she ever had.

We had my baby shower at Culinary Dropout in Phoenix and my mom had ordered a cake in lieu of the cookies the restaurant offered to provide. It was the most amazing cake we had all eaten! The top was red velvet and gone within minutes. The bottom I believe was some kind banana strawberry. Not to mention the cake was beautiful looking and actual chocolate was used versus fondant.

We absolutely love coming to Lisa's Rum Cake! Our wedding cake turned out amazing and it was absolutely delicious. I'm so happy with how it turned out and all our guests loved it.
