Services
Dr. McCleve has been practicing general dentistry since 1998. He offers a full range of services, from basic restorative and maintenance needs to cosmetic dentistry and implant restorations. Dr. McCleve received his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Brigham Young University in 1993 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1997.
You may schedule an appointment by calling (408) 356-6650 or by submitting an appointment request below. We will respond within 1-2 business days. If you need to speak with someone immediately, please call our dental office at 408-356-6650. As you know, medical/dental offices sometimes run late. This is primarily for three reasons: emergencies, difficult procedures that require more time than anticipated, and patients who arrive late.

I went to Dr. Mc Cleve's for the first time regarding a problem I had with my filling. The staff were extremely friendly and easy to talk to! Dr. Mc Cleve and his assistant listened to my issues and easily fixed it plus another one he had identified in the checkup. He was thorough in detailing what needed to be done and did a great job! The whole process was efficient and as enjoyable as a dentist visit can be, and I will be making a return visit!

Dr. Mc Cleve and his staff were fantastic with the kids during their cleanings. My 2-year old and 5-year old went for a cleaning and they loved it! They talked about the experience the whole rest of the day. The dentist was very thorough, yet quick and made it fun, not scary. My kids were totally into brushing their teeth after the visit.

Beyond five stars! From paperless confirmation and easy assistance sending in all my information. The entire staff & Dr. McCleve made my first visit such a breeze. Do not use DDS John McCleve. DDS McCleve is negligent and out of date with modern dental practices. I was recommended to him for general dentistry and I had a front tooth that required an implant. My oral surgeon told me to instruct McCleve that he used a Nobel implant. DDS McCleve did not follow any of the instruction and my implant failed in 5 days and I nearly swallowed my crown.
Do not use DDS John McCleve for crown work. There are many other good dentist out there.

I have always been afraid of going to the dentist due to some unnecessary and improper treatments in the past by other dentists. I put my trust in dr. McCleve and his staff and they took very good care of me while keeping in mind my fear of dentists. They were very kind, listened patiently to my dental woes, kept checking in on me during my first cleanup (after 4 years of avoiding going to the dentist it was in pretty bad shape) and restored my faith in them. I had teeth sensitivity on my lower incisor coupled with a receded gum (a previous procedure by another dentist left me with a healthy gum

Been a while since I have been back because of Covid.. Had a new hygienist this time. She was really nice, really efficient and did a very thorough job. What can I say. This office is top notch and I cannot recommend them enough. I still go to them even though I have moved further away. It's just worth it.

I have been a patient of John and his staff for several years. They are always professional and do a great job. I went in today and was impressed by all the actions they had taken in response to COVID and felt very safe being there even during this pandemic.

Dr McCleve and his team are great! I started going here after I moved to Los Gatos and found them on yelp. The team here is easy to communicate with and helpful. I just called today to get a document as a previous patient and they sent it immediately.
Their team always went above and beyond, which I think shows they really like their jobs. Their dental hygienist recommended that I get an electric toothbrush (no dentist ever told me that) and was super helpful in showing me how to use it and being transparent overall about my tooth health. She made a huge difference and now I've improved

The staff at Dr. McCleves office treat everyone like family. Chris is super responsive and goes out of her way to make things very easy with appointments, getting us in last minute. Dr. McCleve was recommended to me by a friend. He has a wonderful staff! I have only seen Dr. McCleve for exams, since I have not needed any dental treatments, but he is very nice. If I ever need treatment, I'll update this to reflect that. Janet is the hygienist I see, and she's awesome! Always gentle, thorough, and friendly. Chris at the front desk is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I'm so glad I found them!

I've been going to Dr. McCleve's office since I moved to California several years ago and had to look up new Dentists. I actually made my decision based on Yelp reviews and wanted to contribute my own. I'm so lucky to have found a warm, friendly, competent dentist and his staff. Also extremely helpful for me is the system they have in place for reminders!
