Penoach Winery is a small, family owned winery housed in a repurposed 1917 barn. The front porch overlooks the vineyard from which many of the handcrafted wines get their start. The tasting room is welcoming and cozy. There are several wines to choose from, both varietal and blends. Our belief is that your winery experience, whether it is your first or one of many, should be a fun, relaxing experience.
Services
Originally built in 1917, the barn has been transformed into a relaxing place where you can gather with friends for a sample of Penoach wine and good conversation. Enjoy the scenery and even take in a sunset over the vineyard on our covered patio or one of our shelters. We take care of our wine from start to finish.
Penoach Winery is not responsible for the disbursement of the wine or beer once it has been purchased. You are responsible for making arrangements for uncorking, pouring, and distribution. A server must be responsible for all alcohol served. Uncorking, pouring, and consumption must be done OUTSIDE the winery.

Penoach is a pretty good winery. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. They have a free tasting for 5 samples. Really enjoyed their Picket Fence White, wasn't sweet like a lot of Iowa wines. They also have an apple wine that tastes like apple pie. You have to buy a bottle of wine to have a glass here. They have a nice area outside to enjoy it. The people working here were very nice.

Very nice winery just north of Adel (IA). Small tasting room, but very welcoming (the samples flowed freely). Tasting room also serves as a gift shop/accessories store.
It is always nice to find an Iowa winery that produces wine that does taste like it was vinted in a galvanized wash tub. Sometimes Iowa wines have a medicinal after taste or are excessively sweet. Penoach avoids both hazards and produces wines (reds and whites) that will appeal to many pallets.
We were introduced to Penoach through friends who tab the winery as their favorite. With the fine quality of wines, we can understand

We had a fun afternoon wine tasting at this cute winery. We had a groupon, but even without one, you get 5 tastings free. If you feel like having more tastings, it's only $5 for 8 tastings. The owner was a great conversationalist and really fun to chat with during our tasting. They offer a variety of wines. Plenty of sweet wines if you're not a huge wine drinker. I prefer dry red wines and really enjoyed the Man's Best Friend wine. They also make ciders aka carbonated wine. We tried the Cheeky Cherry cider and liked it enough to buy a bottle. The wines are reasonably priced (about

I visited for a wine tasting on an Autumn Saturday. The location was scenic, with easy views of the vineyard, and a home style porch right as you enter.
The owners were gracious and lively, offering fun conversation while describing their wines. Atmosphere matters, and the tasting room was casual, cozy, and calm.
The wines were fantastic! After living in the PNW, visiting CA, and Hermann MO for wine trips, their wines made an impact. I enjoyed them all, and bought several. I will return often.
Definitely a highlight among Iowa vineyards!
