We're from Florida. In 2003 we lost a family member, so we took some time away from the city and rented a little log cabin in Candler, near the Pisgah Forest. We found that the Smoky Mountains offers a wonderful healing experience. We loved everything about the area, the terrific hiking trails, the beautiful waterfalls, the smell of the mountains.
Bears Den Mountain Cabin is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath custom built log cabin. This open floor plan gently welcomes everyone that walks through its doors, you will immediately feel right at home. The cabin is spacious enough to accommodate a party of 12 people and of course, pets are always welcome. The cabin is secluded in the 3.5 private wooded acres.

Terrible Customer Service. There are many excellent cabins in Asheville, but avoid these people. Bait and Switch on prices. Claim "No booking fees" and charge fees. Dishonest.
Edit: The owner replies to my review two years later and clearly doesn't even remember me correctly. They are just trying to clean up their image. They sent a contract which had fees after we discussed no fees. I then declined to reserve with them. They reply two years after the fact. Sad.

Wow from the initial phone call to the last day I was extremely happy with Rebecca who I worked and corresponded with to the little details in the cabin. The cabin was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the location was easy to get to all the great places.
We have already discussed and will be in touch with them again to book another vacation.

We spent a week in the Hickory Nut cabin for our honeymoon and it was perfect. 100 years old, yet all the comforts of home. It's nestled in a mountain with a view and only 30 min. from downtown. The leasing info and process and the directions and other information was clearly laid out. Rebecca was attentive and understanding with my questions and all my interactions with her were positive. We had a great week and we plan to come back for many anniversaries!

We had a large family vacation booked through Asheville Log Cabin Rentals, and unfortunately had to cancel due to schedule conflicts and other issues that arose. Though I don't have experience with their cabins (yet), I can speak to their customer service. This company had great customer service! It was easy to book through them, and all charges were clearly laid out and presented before booking. They are pet friendly as well which I really appreciate. They were very understanding about my having to cancel and they had refunded my charges within a few hours. I found them to be considerate, friendly

Slick Rock cabin was absolutely perfect. Easy location , quiet setting although on main road noise was never a problem. Well appointed, perfectly cleaned and as cozy as two could hope for :))
Some places we stay at just stand above the others and that's because the owners care about their home and care about their guests. this cabin certainly epitomized that.

We've had several fabulous vacation experiences with Asheville Log Cabin Rentals. We loved our family reunion at Magic Mountain. 4 of my friends and I enjoyed a girls week at Bear's Den. My husband and I came back for a romantic get away at Blue Wolf Lodge. We've been thrilled with the courteous, professional service. From our first contact with Asheville Log Cabin Rentals, we have been totally satisfied. We wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend Asheville Log Cabin Rentals.

We have had the pleasure of staying in "Cedar Mountain" twice! My husband and I loved this cabin. It is very cozy. It is beautifully decorated and has everything any couple would need on a get-away weekend. We especially loved the stone fireplace, which is the focal point of the great room. If you and your "honey" want a romantic weekend in the mountains, "Cedar Mountain" is the perfect spot for you.

I have chosen this company for the second time. Last year stayed at Chestnut Hills and adored the cabin and the porch view of the valley was serene and beautiful. The location is higher into the mountain(which is a cooler weather reprieve from my hot state of Florida)but not isolated. This year we booked Bears Den with five friends and had all the privacy we needed with a relaxing wrap around porch, new BBQ, lovely heated spa all in the tree tops. I have vacationed at Bear’s Den and totally loved it!! The cabin is pet friendly so I was able to take my beloved dog with me for vacation. The scenery was breath taking and enjoyed spending time in Asheville. The owner was very professional and caring. The prices were very fair and reasonable. I highly recommend Asheville Log Cabin Rentals. I can’t wait to vacation with them again!!!!
