Grissom Law is a full service law firm serving the North Atlanta area that focuses on estate planning, probate and corporate legal practice areas. We have the knowledge and tools to assist you in preparing for the future and protecting your family's future through estate planning (Wills, Trusts, etc.), probate and business planning.
Everyone needs an estate plan to ensure that family and financial goals are met after death. An essential part of any estate plan is a Will to tell the world how to distribute assets and to provide for guardianship of any minor children. If an individual does not have a Will, the state will determine the disposition of assets and guardianship of any minor children.
Seniors and aging baby boomers are affected by Elder Law. Elder Law is focused on putting documents and a plan in place to protect assets in the event long-term care is required and to ensure that the appropriate persons are named as agents to make decisions regarding your health and finances. Long-term care planning to include Advance Directives for Healthcare and Durable Powers of Attorney.
We work with families of individuals with special needs to develop a plan to provide for the individual to receive government benefits such as Social Security or Medicaid, while having financial resources available in a trust to cover "supplemental" expenses. Drafting Wills which pass any gifts to the Special Needs Trust to protect government benefits.
We represent executors and personal representatives in the probate of Wills following the loss of a loved one and in the probate of estates where no Will exists. We work with you to ensure that deadlines are met and documents filed properly, resulting in a more efficient probate, saving the estate time and money.

We needed to revise our Trust which was originally drawn up in a different state. Susan and her team quickly and efficiently made the revisions for us. Susan was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. The only negative comment I have is most likely due to COVID, which rendered our signing a tad impersonal due to the need for masks and social distancing. Hopefully, the next time we meet with Susan, it will be under less restrictive circumstances. Other than that, I highly recommend.
