Founded and overseen by Artistic Director, Marat Daukayev, former principal and star of the Kirov Ballet, and winner of Russia's prestigious "People's Artist" award, Marat Daukayev School of Ballet strives to cultivate in our students what Mr. Daukayev gained in his professional training: discipline, respect, and love of the art of ballet.

Classes are offered in three semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer, with a separate Summer Intensive program. We accept both male and female students, ages 3 to 18. New students must be assessed by a teacher in a designated class prior to enrollment. Teachers will take age, abilities, and maturity into account when assigning a level to a new student.
Services
MDSB provides performance opportunities to all enrolled students (ages 6+) each December in The Nutcracker. Students perform in a variety of dances, from solos to corps de ballet, in front of a live audience, in a professional performing arts venue. Performances give children a fun, exciting forum for self-discovery and dramatic expression, one of the primary objectives for the study of ballet.
Our new studio is located inside the Equitable Life building at 3435 Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown. There is metered parking on Mariposa or Alexandria between Wilshire and 6th. Make sure you read parking signs carefully as some spots are for commercial use only. You may also park in the Equitable Building parking garage.
The Annual Campaign enables the Marat Daukayev Theatre stage performances that play a vital role in furthering your child's understanding and appreciation of the arts. We ask that you support this initiative. The Annual Campaign funds the year round work of housing and maintaining our scenic design properties, including over 5,000 costumes gathered over 16 years from around the world.
