Mitch Levy is the General Manager and runs day to day operations as well as participates in wine making. In 2007, two men who shared a passion for wine, conspired to create an eclectic brand to produce wines that they believed in. Wines that transcend old world thoughts of what wine is (elite and expensive) and reflect their belief what wine should be (great tasting, complex and affordable).
We occasionally have pop-up events and release parties in our tasting room and take part in several wine festivals in Arizona throughout the year. Whether at our home or on the road, we look forward to having fun you. We will bring the wine! If you have any questions about any of our events feel free to reach out to us and let us know.

We visited Burning Tree on our last day in the area and wished it had been our first stop on the first day! We 💜 red wines and often find ourselves looking for at least one to purchase. Everything we tasted was enjoyable. If it weren’t our last night, we definitely would have purchased more, but settled for two fabulous reds for our last evening.
Our sommelier was pleasant, filled with information and treated us like friends. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys flavorful reds.

I was in Arizona with some family. Due to some waiting issues at our restaurant, we decided to put our name on the list and then go out and look around for a winery while we waited.
We stumbled upon Burning Tree and this was our best decision of the entire trip. We were actually looking to go across the street to a winery we saw, but the logo caught our eye and we went inside.
Here we were greeted by a very nice man. We got two combo flights, one white flight, and a red flight. During this time, he told us all about the wines and their history, and about the labels on the bottles. The pour amount

Burning Tree has a fairly large tasting room right on the main street, including both indoor and outdoor options. The pourer seemed pretty knowledgable, and the wines were quite good (and this is coming from somebody who lives in Napa Valley and has been wine tasting in many states and countries.)
After having bad wine at Alcantara, we almost wrote off Arizona wines entirely, but I'm glad we gave Burning Tree a try.

One of several wine tasting rooms we visited in Cottonwood. Purchased the red flight, as reds are our fav. The wines are GOOD. A bit pricey, but no more than other local winery prices. The venue itself was very well done. Comfy and inviting, tastefully appointed, adding to the experience of a wine tasting. Our hostess was knowledgeable and friendly. Our small group lingered - probably too long. But the wines, the atmosphere and the service were the reason we were in no hurry to leave. Please stop in. Oh, and by the way - Burning Tree Cellars has a healthy sense of humor. They have a varietal named

Awesome Wines!!!
We have been to a lot of wine tasting including Napa Valley, Willamette Valley, Columbia Valley and Walla Walla and we were shocked at the quality of the wines at BTC. It was our first trip to a wine tasting room from a wine created in AZ. All 4 of us in our group liked every wine we tasted which is rare for my husband and I. It was just as good when we opened it at home. Well done BTC.

Owner was not professional and said he does not welcome "millennials" in his tasting room. He asked us to leave. We left and went to another couple tasting rooms I which we told them our experience without telling them where we were and surprisingly they say- oh Mitch from Burning Tree...we get that a lot. Don't spend your money there.

My husband and I recently sat on the patio here for a tasting. This is one of the few tasting rooms in town with a patio - it's not the fanciest of patios,, but it got the job done for us. They welcomed our two pups and even brought a bowl of water. They are located on the backside of downtown Cottonwood.
We shared the red and white flight, with a white from the light from as substitute for the matador, which they were out of. The wines here are french style in steal barrels. The whites were all very similar. Our favorites were the last few on the red menu. We didnt love anything enough

I love doing wine tasting tours wherever they might be. Arizona has some nice wineries and a nice discovery was the Burning Tree Cellars in Cottonwood. The location was great and the patio was very comfortable. The hostess pouring our tastings was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She made us feel at home. We did a red wine flight and then enjoyed a glass with a cheese and meat plate. Very nice! ☺️👍

Just don't go here, unless you love being told you're a lair. There are other fabulous wineries in Cottonwood, and other parts of Arizona. Yes. Burning Tree has good wine. BUT everything else is absolutely horrible. I have been a wine club member for about two years. If you can't pick up your shipment, it has to be shipped. Fine. You have to pay for it, (double if you don't fight it) You have to sign for alcohol deliveries, and more than once I have emailed Mitch saying I needed it shipped to my place of employment, because I am there to sign. Ive been over charged for wine

Would leave no stars if that was an option! Rudest people ever! We ordered a bottle of wine (which was not very good), which came with glasses we were told by the waitresses we could keep. We drank what little bit of the bottle we could stomach, which wasn't much, because again, the wine was horrid. Once we got up to leave, some overweight, bald man came out screaming at us because we "stole his wine glasses". If we misunderstood the waitress, there were so many more tactful ways to approach the situation.

Amazing wine tasting location. Very friendly staff, Tim helped us out with anything we needed. Good wine and comfortable location. Had live music which was pleasant. Everyone was warm and inviting. Got to keep the glasses after tasting which isn't done everywhere else in cottonwood. Highly recommend.

Walking in to the tasting room, it took quite a while to get anyone's attention . Once we got attention and wanted to do a wine tasting, we were told we'd have to be patient and were handed a glass while standing in the middle of the room while one employee returned to another group and the other one walked by us repeatedly.
With no guidance on where to sit we headed outside, and finished the first small taste - and we were about ready to simply walk away after a long wait when the second person stopped by to ask if we were ready for our next taste.

What a great place to hang out and drink delicious wine. Plenty of room to relax indoors or on the patio, right on Main St in the heart of Cottonwood. The pourers are friendly and unpretentious, and the AZ wines are beautifully balanced, dry and fruity. We never leave Cottonwood without a visit to Burning Tree Cellars!! Open late.
