Founded in 1885 with history dating back to the spring of 1738, Belhurst sits on the shores of Seneca Lake in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes wine region. Listed on the National Register of Historic Properties, Belhurst offers a unique experience rooted in history. Our three diverse hotels - as well as our restaurant in the castle, casual pub, winery and gift shop, and spa-salon - all have their own story.
Built in 1885, Mrs. Carrie Collins had big dreams for what is now Belhurst Castle. Fifty men worked for four years on it's construction, using materials imported from Europe as well as limestone from Medina, NY. Today, the Chambers in the Castle remains true to its history. Choose from 11 guestrooms that make up the Chambers in the Castle, each architecturally unique and named after a piece of Belhurst Castle's past.
Built as an addition in 2003 to the the historic Belhurst Castle, the Vinifera Inn is home to 20 modern guest rooms on the second and third floor with breathtaking views of Seneca Lake. All rooms in our Vinifera Inn include a King size bed, Jacuzzi, fireplace and walk-in showers. Our most spacious rooms in the Vinifera Inn, we've saved our best views of Seneca Lake for our Turret Room guests.
Once farm land that was home to the largest heard of imported Guernsey cattle in the world, the White Springs Farm and Dairy Company, organized by Mr. Alfred G. Lewis in 1905, gave the people of Geneva their first bottled milk. Today, White Springs Manor, located two miles west of Belhurst Castle is a 1900's Georgian revival farm manor.

We stayed in tower suite. Flys and gnats in room. Wine tasting was stand at counter as the pour a sip into a plastic cup. Staff at tavern seemed disgruntled, told us lies to our face. Cobwebs in rafters. No bell service had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs.
The fancy building wasted by poor staff. Clearly some poison personalities demoralizing folk.

Stayed in the billiard room a little pricey for the room size. Room was clean . Free breakfast in the morning. Marty at front desk was extremely helpful in getting us a table at a nearby restaurant after every other place had a 90 minute wait. Mandy who served my wife and I in the tasting room went above and beyond. Can't beat the old world charm and history of the castle. Great weekend!

Wine tasting was terrible. They poured white and red in the same plastic cup and didn’t rinse out in between. Glasses would be nice. Ate dinner at the restaurant which was very understaffed which is fine in these post COVID times- however the food was incredibly bland and not worth the prices. They did provide a nice dessert as we were celebrating a special occasion, which was very appreciated.

Not impressed. I had high expectations for this winery. We got there when they opened at 10 am to start to day off on our wine trail. And our experience was poor. The facility is breath taking, don't get me wrong, but that's the only positive thing I could say about it.
We were greeted by an eye rolling, brash server. We were the only ones in the facility at the time and she didn't explain a thing. Just slapped the paper and pen down and said "pick 5". Okay cool. You not going be at least helpful? Solid work. I honestly have had better experience with going to a wine tasting

A group of 6 of us went for a tasting. We called to make a reservation and we were told they didn't take reservations for groups less than 7 people. When we got there, the workers rudely told us we should have made a reservation, as they were currently too busy for a group of our size. We waited for the tasting, and a few members went to the bathroom, during which the rest of the group was seated for the tasting. They told the group they would not wait the 2 minutes for the girls in the bathroom and that they'd have to go to the end of the line. Also, the person cleaning the bathroom was extremely

Went there for my sister in laws wedding. What a beautiful place! Lake air is so refreshing! We stayed the night. Room was amazing! They even offered a complimentary beer flight and 10% off growler. I couldnt squeeze in the flight, but got a growler of their IPA. Delicious! Saving that for a Bills game!

We were very disappointed in the lunch service at the Stonecutter’s Tavern. They do not take reservations, so our party had a 30 minute wait that turned into over an hour and a half. Initially told we could be seated as soon as a table finished so we could push two tables together, then told the manager had to seat others. Once seated, the food… order took over an hour. Three of our group ordered Reuben’s described as traditionally prepared. What came out was dry toast with 2 small slices of corn beef with an undetectable amount of sauerkraut and no thousand island dressing.

Stayed at the Belhurst Castle in the Otis room, did a wine tasting in the shop, ate at the Stonecutters restaurant and used the spa.
The Belhurst castle stay:
The reservation process was very easy and straightforward online, the checkin process was easy and the staff was very friendly. Walking to our room we noticed how dirty the hall carpet was. Past the hostess stand for Edgar's you are hit with a stench that starts with a dirty chimney smell, up the stairs; an old wood smell and on the second floor... stale wine. The room was as clean as it could be considering the antiques in it. Overall

Our daughter was married here this past weekend. The staff were friendly and so accommodating, we couldn’t have had a better experience. Attention to detail was amazing. Rooms were perfect for bridal weekend. Thank you so very much to all your staff from Carmen - best event planner ever, to wait staff and housekeeping. You all are top notch and appreciated beyond words! 💞💞

Unfortunately I stop at the Belhurst once a year when I am the designated driver taking a father and son on their annual wine tasting in the Finger Lakes. Due to recently diagnosed stomach issues I am unable to drink wine or have a full meal. The view is pretty, but the store is full of things that one really doesn't need. The kind of things that end up in someone's yard sale. In the past I ate with friends at one of their restaurants and we were really unimpressed. My children live out of town and remembered (unfortunately) there was this place on the Finger Lakes and bought me a

Great wine tasting room. They have a very nice cheese and wine pairing tasting menu.
Wines are a bit pricey compared to other places in the area. The quality is very high, though. They also have a very beautiful castle on grounds. Certainly worth the visit. They are also open until 7pm, which males them unique.

We came to here for a wine tasting, not to stay in the hotel. The wine steward was knowledgeable and he was very personable. There were no seats at the wine bar to sit and relax. One could only stand. The tasting was in the gift shop. We were expecting a much different experience. This was our least favorite of all the wineries. Decent wines. Will not be back and will not recommend to others.

The castle itself is stunning and the architecture is not to be missed. Currently dining is by reservation only or at least that's what we were told. We opted to eat in the pub and did a tasting of the beer and wine. Nothing stood out and nothing was bad it was all just average. We found this surprising based on the light attendance and physical beauty of the castle. Worth a few minutes to walk around and sample but that's about it

We were given a very generous gift certificate For our birthdays at the Belhurst Castle to stay at the Ice house.
Well I'm not sure exactly where to start I guess we'll start at the icehouse. Looks really cute from the outside doesn't it? Take a closer look at the inside. Do you notice the kitchenette and the stove?
Well it's really it's a dummy kitchenette.. because the stove doesn't work at all and the switches and for the fan are missing knobs and are broken. And if you notice the empty cupboards? No dishes no silverware no glasses no dishwasher. All you have

This "castle" (a beautiful 19th-century manor) is popular for weddings and honeymoons, and I can see why! (Though for us it was just a vacation splurge)
Our room in the newer hotel was clean, spacious, and awesome: in-room jacuzzi, fireplace, and a large, comfortable bed next to the windows with a beautiful view right down onto Seneca Lake.
I can't speak for the food (didn't eat here at all), but a stroll around the well-maintained grounds was relaxing and beautiful, and we also enjoyed the complimentary wine-tasting that came with our room (the wines were better than I expected
