Services
DeMatha Catholic High School stands at the intersection of several great traditions: the 2000-year-old Catholic intellectual tradition of reason informing faith, the 800-year-old tradition of the Trinitarians and their commitment to faith and redemption, and its own history of excellence since 1946.
DeMatha Catholic High School is a college preparatory institution dedicated to educating young men in the Trinitarian tradition. Our historic and ongoing mission is to serve students of differing abilities, interests, and backgrounds from the culturally rich and diverse greater Washington Metropolitan area.
The primary focus of the school was to educate and prepare those interested in becoming clergy in the Trinitarian Order. However, due to a lack of Catholic high schools and facilities in the metropolitan area (and Hyattsville), Catholic parents requested that their sons be granted permission to enroll at DeMatha.
His chief interest lay in works of mercy and prayer. During that Mass, he was struck with a vision of Christ holding by the hand two chained captives, one a Moor, the other a Christian (the Crusades were in full force at the time). The Christian captive carried a staff with a red and blue cross. Three other bystanders at the church that day had the same vision.
The priests and brothers of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives maintain ministries in parishes, missions and social justice programs throughout the world. Called in the loving plan of God, the Brothers of the Holy Trinity are a religious community founded in 1198 by St. John de Matha and renewed by St. John Baptist of the Conception.

DeMatha is without a doubt the "best" High School on the East Coast. DeMatha has the highest quality teaching & administrative staff, an outstanding Music Program and an Athletic Department that is "Superior" bar none. Go! Stags!

DeMatha high school is a great school on all fronts; academics, music and athletics. The staff and faculty expect great things from each student. The students are taught that the standard is excellence and that they are expected to work hard and achieve excellence as individuals and as a unified student body. I highly recommend DeMatha.
