I am in search of a new insurance as my experience with Erie has been absolutely horrible. A week ago I hit a deer with my car and immediately contacted Erie. The I tail person was very helpful but apparently now I have found out told me false information. They told me I could only take my car to 1 auto body shop in our town the next being 20 minutes away. Later I was told "oh I don't know why they told you that you could go anywhere". So then came time for the rental car. The rental car company told me they couldn't get me in a rental car for 2 days. I called Erie 10 times

On 8/17/21 an Erie insured driver pulled out of a handicapped parking space in the post office parking lot and backed into my front bumper. I was standing still at the time and proceeded to lean on my horn loud and long when I saw he was not going to stop. A deputy office in the post office heard the horn and came out to investigate. He wrote an accident report. I had to call Erie because their client never reported the accident to them. Erie sent out an adjuster to estimate the damage and then sent me a letter refusing to pay the claim. Their client told them he didn't hit my car.

Business Insurance: We had a inspection and no issues and no claims. But Erie Underwriter Shannon McKay decided that they want our insurance business, but also wants to exclude what we do as a service. So, what are they insuring, nothing. So, Shannon doesn't understand our product which is ok, but take the time and learn. Her non experience in underwriting has cost a loss of business for them, but with 5 calls today warning other shops who need to renew , Cincinnati picked up more customers. I just don't understand, if an underwriter is not experienced with a certain trades or fields

I would like to give Erie a 5 star review - the local agent is great the policy coverage and rates are good but their website is poor. Since I prefer to do as much service as possible on-line their website is really important. The biggest problem is that the website is not available in the early morning and slow at other times.

I was backed into in July by a guy who was parked behind parking spots. I started backing out before he was even in his truck and had video proof. Erie is claiming I'm still partially at fault because I backed into his path. Actually they gave a different reason each time I proved them wrong. I also honked at him but because of the situation had no safe option to prevent getting hit. The agent they placed on my case was awful to get ahold of. Tldr: Do not get Erie insurance if you have a pet. Erie calls itself 'insurance', but they will drop your policy as soon as they think there is a 'probability of future losses'
We were with Erie for our home insurance for a year. We worked with a really friendly agent and were generally pretty happy with the supposed coverage. We then got a puppy and he nipped someone; there was no need for medical intervention, nothing serious. Out of an abundance of caution, we called our agent to ask what we should do. She told us there was nothing to worry about. So we continued paying

I want to give a huge shoutout to Lanyi Insurance Agency for saving us $2000 a year by switching from Farmers to Erie Insurance! This was apples to apples coverage on home and auto PLUS a $1M umbrella policy for PCL insurance! We had been with Farmers for 5+ years and had no idea how much we could save! For all you hard working contractors out there, I'd like to share my personal experience with Erie insurance. I've had Erie for for business general liability coverage since 2011 and I always paid my premiums. The policy was always serviced from where it was originated, specifically a very reputable authorized brokerage firm.
Upon renewal this year, I was notified that Erie took my policy and was keeping it "in house" moving forward. My broker warned me that the level of service was going to be torturous and exhausting especially when it came time to request certificate of insurance

Erie insurance kicked me out of my policy just 10 days before Christmas. I've paid 8 months out of the 10. I fell behind a little bit due to minimal hours at work since the company is in the middle of removing people. I called to make my payment in full, I was told my policy was cancelled and it was nothing they could do. No accidents within the past 3 years. I've had Erie for almost 5 years. Had Erie for 4 years for auto and home All was well until we had a water leak and had to replace water line. Three of local Erie employees came out and looked at the problem and said that the company should and would pay for it. Yet when it got to Erie HQ, they denied all of it. Erie is a sorry excuse for an insurance company. They are dishonest, low lifes, and cheats. They will gladly take your money and then refuse to honor the services for which you pay them. If considering insurance, stay far away from this company. They will not pay on claims made by their policy holders. And as noted

I totalled my car one week ago. I was fortunately assigned to Nick Grant at the Peoria office. I was impressed with his knowledge, his timely responses and his overall good customer service. Wow, an insurance adjuster who was "human." I felt he was actually working with me. I am so happy that my insurance broker put me with Erie Insurance. I am 73 years old and never in my life did I ever believe that I would say that about any insurance company:)

20+years of home and auto and when someone hit my wife's car while it was parked at her place of employment and ran. Erie insurance added insult to injury by saying I needed to pay two separate deductables on a total damage claim of $1150 I was disgusted. No prior claims and they stuck me for $1000 deductable. Never again !
The good news is Geico saved me $700/year! If you have crappy eerie insurance go shopping now!
