Settler is a New American restaurant inspired by the rustic and handmade approach to french cookery. Tucked away on Lynde Street in Salem, Settler is a cozy but chic neighborhood spot. From homemade sourdough to fresh pastas, almost everything is made in house. Husband and wife team, Aaron and Shanna Chambers, combine a love for good food, wine, and spoiling family and friends at their kitchen table.
Settler is an extension of their own home - a place to eat, drink, and be part of the family. Autumn in New England reminds all of us New Englanders why we live here! From the beautiful fall foliage, crisp air, and ripe apples to the feelings of recharge and renewal. To celebrate and welcome travelers and locals alike, we are kicking off a custom and curated experience for our guests to try something new in October!

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. The menu is chef driven, the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable about their inventory, the vibe is cozy and warm, this list goes on. The food was the best part though, excellent quality. Looking forward to coming back. The madelines & sticky toffee pudding are MUST trys.

Settler is easily the best restaurant in Salem, if not Boston. I hate writing this review because I don’t want my weekly reservations to become harder to get, but the team at Settler deserves each of these stars, and some. Quickly flipping through my camera roll to share a few shots of what you can look forward to here.
No reason to write a pro/con list as this restaurant genuinely has zero cons

I had found Settler on Yelp and I really wanted to eat here during our one day in Salem. After walking all day, Settler was out last stop on our day in the Witch City. I never anticipated to have my best culinary experience in Salem, but here I am telling the tale. Settler has a 3 course meal style of serving. We received the chef picked appetizers. I don’t have the exact names, but it was a ricotta style dip, a pumpkin hummus, and another dish that was like a falafel. It was all phenomenal. We also decided to get a cocktail called a Yusuf Highball. It was refreshing, light and exactly what we

Very occasionally in life you stumble upon an artist, an athlete, or a restaurant before they become famous and have one of those moments that you say under your breath wow that was special, this is going to be famous.
Settler gave me that. Best restaurant I’ve had the pleasure of dining at in New England. The swordfish was outstanding. The staff were outstanding.
The only downside is I doubt I’ll be able to get a table on short notice next time I want to go back.

Settler exceeded all of my expectations - it was phenomenal. The space is very cozy and inviting and the staff was incredibly attentive. We started with the homemade bread and butter, along with a series of dips that were excellent. As a vegetarian, I had the Squash Veloute and the Pumpkin Cappelletti which were just beautiful - excellent presentation, rich in flavor, fresh, and savory. My boyfriend went with recommendations from the staff and had the Pork and the Swordfish - he echoed the same sentiments. We finished with the cheesecake and the chocolate tarte which were light and delicious. This

So delicious! I had a fantastic time, the food was delicious! My favorite was the chilled corn soup with pesto and incredible pickled corn. Amazing! And a dessert of passion fruit sorbet, strawberries, basil and sparkling wine. The photos do not adequately show how beautiful and tasty everything was.

Wow! All I can say is, if you are a foodie, and are in a position to dine in Salem, MA, go to Settler.
We ate there for the initial time last evening. The one word description of our meal from start to finish is, “sublime”.
The service was friendly, knowledgeable and service oriented. The food pairings worked so well together. The overall flavors were so well balanced. They neither underwhelmed or overwhelmed the main dishes, or for that matter the side dishes. That is not easy to perfect. Clearly the owners/chefs have a love of cooking and making great food.
We will return, sooner rather

Very enjoyable evening at the new Settler restaurant in Salem (formerly Firenze). They have renovated with a bar across one wall and an inviting dining area with an open kitchen. The renovay was well considered and the food tastes even better! Some new takes (and flavors) with classic preparations. The have a beer, wine and cordials license only, but the selection was nicely thought out. The dinner was delicious and the service was great without being annoying.
We had the crispy olives and split a beet salad to start. Deep fried olives were awesome with the spicy garlic dipping sauce and the salad
