It all started in 1999, when our founder, Shane Coker, at 28 years old, opened an unassuming little mattress store in Austin Texas.
He had sort of grew up in the industry, and after carrying all the big "S" brands (Sealy, Simmons, Serta, Spring Air) & new fad memory foam brands (Temperpedic, etc), and after experiencing all the different technologies & core components that were on the market, he came to realize firsthand what worked & what didn't, what was real and what was fad, in sleep.

Our Purity Ratings are based on the types of materials, fire retardants, and the amount of natural or organic materials used to produce the product. Handmade in California, the Natural mattress is a luxurious, natural, chemical fire-retardant free sleep system, which won't break the bank! We tweaked this mattress for years in our stores over time, and have perfected natural luxury, at an affordable price.
Non-organic mattress manufacturers make mattresses from man-made materials, most of which are petrochemical based, and then cover them in sprayed on chemical fire retardants, like formaldehyde, antimony, and melamine.all of which off gas into your families environment. Why not sleep in a chemical free sleeping environment?
In 2007, the United States adopted new fire-retardant standards for mattresses. Traditional manufacturers are meeting these standards with sprayed on toxic chemicals that make your sleeping space more dangerous than restful. Compare the construction of an organic mattress to the traditional option, and you're sure to see the compelling difference.

I bought an awesome bed from here. The customer service was great; they let me take as long as I wanted to comparison shop (laying on the beds, looking at the beds, asking questions about the composition, and the relative pros and cons of each bed). I was assisted by Dalton, who was great and super knowledgeable. The delivery service was also fantastic--fast, not at all messy, good communication, haul away service and setup provided. I love love love my new bed.
The only downfall is how long it took to get here - ordered in June, delivered in August. Global supply chain issues, what can you do

Before accidentally finding this place, the idea of an organic mattress was something that had never crossed my mind. I went in out of curiosity and left with TWO mattresses!! Yes, some of their mattresses are above the average price of a mattress you could get at a more standard mattress store. BUT, there are 100% options available for any budget that are just as comfortable as anything you could get anywhere else.

I'm super excited to have a mattress from this store! The store itself is great. I loved seeing the cut-away of a mattress and learning about how the mattresses are constructed. The salesman was super helpful and patient, they got the mattress to us as soon as it came in. He's not real chatty as far as salesmen go and definitely doesn't try to up-sell, which I think a lot of people appreciate. He's well informed about the products they carry. I would recommend an organic mattress to everyone! I'm really glad Austin has this store!

Holy Moly!!! I went into the store completely clueless about all of the chemicals that are found in our beds. The staff here is INSANELY knowledgeable and taught me a think or too. They even helped me pick out sheets and pillows that are chemical free... who would have thought there were chemicals in those items. Customer service was excellent. The store is well designed, organized and has beautiful artwork from local artist. I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!

My mom and I purchased my son’s bed at the Burnet Rd. store when he was 2. He’s 14 now and the bed is still good. Just as comfortable and clean as it was at purchase.
My husband and I decided to get a split queen from the same store, since I liked the store and the staff and the previous purchase. We got it and it has been great for my husband, but what I got for my side, after a while, ended up being too soft. So I ordered a new base for my side.
That was 5 weeks ago, June 11. They told me it would be ready for pickup the next week. After not hearing from them for over a week, I called on

Best mattress buying experience hands down! Their staff (Charles Roberts in particular) is incredibly knowledgeable and great to work with. Their products are organic and awesome. They also were great with my children, which is a plus for every parent trying to do errands. I could not be happier with my experience, and I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a new mattress or movable base.

Charles at Austin Mattress saved the day! I had already been through two failed mattresses when I came into Austin Mattress desperate. My number one priority was that my mattress be non toxic. I also had a budget in mind that I was not willing to go over. The two previous mattresses I had gotten were way to firm (despite being sold a Plush), and as a side sleeper, I was waking up with my arm completely asleep and my whole body stiff. Charles listened to my concern, showed me around the show room patiently, and then helped me choose an awesome mattress within my budget. I brought it home and slept

The staff was very helpful in finding us the the perfect mattress. I highly recommend this store.They have a quality selection, and a great staff! Their mattresses are all natural and make you feel amazing when you wake up. I love this store and I have bought multiple beds from them! Amazing customer service here. I had to cancel an order I made a couple of days ago for a special bed for my daughter with special needs. Steve was so warm-hearted and understanding. He assured me it was no problem and told me if I ever needed anything to give him a call. When I am ready for a bed or mattress, I will definitely be calling on Steve. He is a genuinely nice man with a caring heart!

You sell the best mattresses!!! Love my Latex mattress I purchased from your Bee Cave location. James Grantham assisted me with my purchase. Based on my needs he knew which one would work. He spent a lot of time fine tuning the firmness that was best suited for my body. He always has a sunny disposition and you can tell he has a passion for what he does. Thank you James Grantham!!!
