Services
San Francisco Ballet, long recognized for pushing boundaries in dance, has a history of making history. Founded in 1933, the company staged the first full-length American productions of Copplia (1938) and Swan Lake (1940) and, in 1944, we launched an annual holiday tradition when we produced the first full-length production of Nutcracker in the US.
From my very first days in San Francisco, my goal has been to build a ballet company that draws from the past while looking forward. In planning my final Season with San Francisco Ballet, I reflected upon the many artists and works that have inspired me throughout my career. I designed a final Season that offers both a heartfelt look back at the artistry of my almost four decades here - a love letter to this company and all of its supporters.
We offer multiple ways for you to enjoy San Francisco Ballet: Select a Principal Package of 7 or 5 programs; or Choreograph Your Own (CYO) season of three or more programs. Whichever option you choose, rest assured that you'll receive the best seats, the best prices, and exclusive season ticket holder benefits.
Meet choreographers and dancers, participate in workshops, and experience a host of other exhilarating and enriching activities. This year San Francisco Ballet's Audience Engagement Program Ballet Insights examines a small selection of 20th Century Greats. Become an expert yourself during intensive classes that bring you deeper into the selected work and let you hear from the dancers and artists themselves.
We want you to make the most of your experience before, during, and after a performance. We've curated these best tips to make your day or evening at San Francisco Ballet unforgettable. We encourage you to take public transit, but the Opera House is close to several nearby parking garages. Cocktails, dinner, seating charts, accessibility, policies, FAQs-all you need to know to take in the city's beloved Opera House.

Great experience. We had 2 seats on Grand tier ($150 each). Show started at 7pm, we arrived at the Performing Arts Garage(across the street from Ballet) @ 4:40pm grab event parking for $20. Doors at Ballet opened at 5pm. Had dinner at the Prelude @ the opera house. We paid about $180 for 2 adult buffets, 3 drinks, and a dessert. As for the performance, BRAVO! BRAVO!

I enjoy going to the Nutcracker every year with my family but lately I've been disappointed with the staff. Attitudinally they seem out of place and soemtimes provide misinformation. The last time I was there I excused myself to the restroom. The person at the door said I had enough time and to back through the top floor. When I tried to go back no one would let me in until intermission causing me to miss half the show, almost ruining an important night for me.
Production and performers are great. Staff needs some improvement.

The adult ballet program is not for working professionals and I wholeheartedly recommend you go to the 3 other major dance studios in SF (Academy of Ballet, Alonzo King, ODC Dance) that have cheaper prices, more time availabilities, and more flexibility in arrival times. They are not accommodating to working people's schedules. They only have 6 PM classes on the weekdays and they refuse to let you in people after 6:10. Even if you commute over an hour to get there, if you arrive at 6:12 they won't let you in, even if you told them you stretched beforehand (happened to me). Plus, the school location

San Francisco Ballet is great! The opera house is an incredible venue.
The company explores new realms of creativity through their productions. Always fantastic one of the most unique if not the most unique ballet company in the world. Each season brings a diverse and varied selection of performances! Greatly enjoy their premieres!
