Alonzo King LINES Ballet is a celebrated contemporary ballet company that has been guided since 1982 by the unique artistic vision of Alonzo King. Our physical dance studios at 26 Seventh Street are gradually reopening for in-person Dance Center classes. We're so excited to welcome you back to the studios! Reminder: all studio visitors must wear a mask securely at all times over their nose and mouth when inside our building (regardless of vaccination status).
Currently in effect, this plan includes an increased police presence combined with community ambassadors to cover every block of the area from Powell Station (5th Street) to 8th Street on Market Street and adjacent areas just south of Market Street, UN Plaza, and the Tenderloin blocks bordered by Larkin Street and Eddy Street.

A truly delightful San Francisco institution, located right in the heart of the city. In addition to the professional ballet company, they offer exemplary community classes. In our family, we've signed up for yoga and dance classes, and really enjoyed the instructors. Over the past year, we've also attended their gala and silent auction, and will continue to support the organization in years to come.

Pros: Has a lot of different dance styles and tons of different times for classes. Kyle Limin is an awesome teacher.
Cons: Everything else. Building is old and not in a good neighborhood. (For instance, while waiting for rides home after class, I've witnessed gun exchanges, fights, and drugs galore.) The studios are not well maintained and the floors are filthy and uneven. My ballet tights were covered in dirt after one class. Most frustrating is that the class leveling is not at all close to what is on the website - and different teachers have different definitions of each level so you never

I've always wanted to learn ballet and came across Alonzo King LINES Ballet after watching a documentary. This school is one of the first places in SF to offer classes teaching adults ballet techniques. I'm a complete beginner with no ballet training/background whatsoever and there's a class for me. So far, I love it. I can't wait to improve my skills and really get into dance!
