We originally opened in 1937 as a full tavern on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island until Carlo Denino introduced Pizza in 1951. Since then, Denino's Pizzeria and Tavern has been renowned for our pizza pie and Italian dinner platters, which we always prepare fresh daily.
We use our family's recipes for Chicken Parmigiana, Meatballs and Sausage and over the years we've added our own version of tavern favorites like Wings, Scungilli and Hero Sandwiches. At the age of two, Carlo Denino's father John (Giovanni) arrives in America (NYC) from the island of Sicily, Italy.

Definitely the best pizza in the area. If you like thin crust, give this place a try. My only knock is that it's a bit too light on the sauce and it's a little pricey ($18 for a large plain). Good food costs a bit more and I have no problem paying for quality, but it may deter people who don't have the same philosophy as me.

We've been meaning to eat here for years since they opened but every time we tried to pop in they were jam-packed... Usually a good sign. Finally making it in and sitting down to a white clam pizza and chicken parmigiana dish, we were left kind of kicking ourselves for not coming here sooner.
We started off with the sampler appetizer which was calamari, fried shrimp and mozzarella sticks... Your mozzarella sticks were delicious, the calamari was cooked to perfection and so were the shrimp. My only criticism is no tentacles in the calamari portion... Those are my favorite part.

Place was great when first opened used to frequent a lot Not sure what happened to original staff But last three dine in experiences have been sub par to say the least What I noticed staff with faces in their phones Not caring enough to check on tables or even send correct orders to kitchen Received wrong pizza and then waited an additional 15 minutes for a dry broccoli rabe and sausage hero to arrive after pizza finally showed up.Person who I believe is the manager appears clueless and arrogant. Will no longer be supporting this establishment in my community

Pizza was excellent, accept we sat at our table for 1hr and 15 min. Watching pies come out of the oven into take out boxes that were stacked 24 pies for over 45 min. No pies going to dining room. Complained to waitress who was no help. Spoke to manager who said all those pies were ordered before us. Makes absolutely no sense at all. The mgr should have managed the pizza makers so that the dining room was served as well. Instead he said he was busy answering the phone. Geez... I guess he forgot was the mgr.

Worst pizza ever ..slow service. I stopped in to get a couple of slices and a soda...saw it was mainly a sit down restaurant inside rather than a pizzeria like their name says...so no problem I'll get it to go...ord 2 slices and a coke... pretty pricey at 9.00 ...was told to sit in their waiting area....ok 10 to 15 mins go by....nothing...pizza was on the counter just needed to be reheated....so I ask the mgr how much longer....guy instead of apologizing he just kind of barks..."slices take longer here" ok not sure what that means.... a few mins more they bring my slices out....the box felt empty
