Founded by Sonia Melo and Alfonso Bausilio in Bern We have been sharing our passion for the Arts and internationally established experience in Dance since 1996, with two ballet academies in Switzerland and one AS Ballet Academy in New York City.

ASBallet NY is a wonderful school. The director Sonia truly cares to teach ballet and to spread her love for ballet. Not only do the students learn ballet but they also learn valuable life lessons that they can carry with them for the rest of their life. The environment is most definitely like a family. The students look up to the company members as well as the older students. The new studio is also very beautiful. ASBallet NY is greatly recommended.

My daughter had a dream and that dream was to be a ballet dancer she is 6 years old. As a mother I had to make that happen so I came across this school. It was my daughters first day and her first experience ever! as soon as i walked in with her along with my mother we were welcomed with open arms and smiles by the teachers and Ms. Sonia herself! Seeing the patience and how nice they were with my daughter but most important the smile on my daughters face made me so emotional with happy tears! I then knew I found the perfect school for her! My daughter cant wait to take her next class and I myself

AS Ballet is an amazing dance school. They have programs in gymnastics, vocal skills and several forms of dance, and even have a guitar teacher. A few years back my daughter was just starting out in ballet, and immediately she was welcomed in by other kids and the teachers. Speaking of teachers, Sonia, Giuseppe and all the other teachers are wonderful people that are extremely attentive to each dancer, regardless of age. My child that started as shy and a bit uncoordinated, is now confident both in dance and in school. This school gets my very highest recommendation!

AS Ballet NYC provides the best dance training in NYC, bar(re) none. Sonia Melo, the director of the studio and the premier teacher of the classes, is the best teacher with whom my daughter, Dorothy (age 13), has ever worked. While my daughter has been accepted to several prestigious dance programs in NYC, including Alvin Ailey, she decided to train exclusively at AS Ballet because of the type and quality of training offered there. It has been a great choice. Ms. Melo has, in only 6 weeks, completely overhauled her technique, has fixed her overall position and has undone years of improper work
