Now for the cons; you enter into a long sales pitch the entire time you are in the building. From the time you are greeted till the time you leave, the goal it to get a person to purchase another product or service. Also, the online advertised price for waxing is very different from the price they tried to charge in house. In house they stated an underarm wax was $25; online it states that under arm wax for first time customers is $10. The website even has the address of the facility that i went to. The receptionist

Danielli did hands down THE BEST ever job waxing my brows. No one had ever nailed it. I was clear in explaining what I wanted and she blew me away. My eyebrows look fantastic and I have her to thank. I have been getting waxed at Suddenly Slimmer and/or Rio Wax for years. I will admit that I am not the best at my maintenance routine all around and this includes my waxing - shameful, I know! But every time I return, I am reminded that I need to make myself a priority. Great staff, great service and Dannielli is always warm and welcoming. I also highly recommend nose waxing! Yes, I said it - get the inside of your nose waxed people! I tried it once while traveling and it hurt so badly - I loved the results so trusted Dannielli to have a better technique. Bingo! I went here twice for a Brazilian wax and don't think I will come back. I have been getting waxes for over 5 years which I told the waxer early on in our conversation. Despite telling her this she kept talking down to me in a really bizarre way as if I don't understand skincare or the process of a Brazilian wax. She kept giving me weird play by plays of every step. I guess I'm more used to a more casual environment. Overall the whole vibe was too stuffy in general for me. Also don't like how hard they try to sell you on products (which is part of the job I know).

I had been putting off my waxing for my legs and chest area for months because I was nervous, scared, and anticipated embarrassment. Finally I could not put off any longer and googled a place in the neighborhood when I came across Rio Wax Salon in Phoenix. I was attracted to their very beautiful building looks from the street. I called to set my appointment and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful! She suggests me to see Dannielli.
She is so professional, and kind; she really wants me to have a relaxing experience, besides I was running a few minutes late to my appointment. She did right

I've had a lot of Brazilian waxes in my lifetime coming from Southern California. Dannielli is by far the best waxer I have been to. The wax was the least painful I've ever had, she was extremely professional, friendly, and an overall extremely likable person. The front desk was also extremely friendly and helpful. My Brazilian looks AWESOME, the least amount of irritation and stray hairs I've ever had. Dannielli also told me if I want to get rid of the hairs permanently that she's also a laser technician and offers the new Soprano Ice laser hair removal, she said its pain-free, works for all skin

I called to make an appointment and the lady that picked up either didn't know the price or was trying to rip me off. She quoted me a price and when I questioned it, she tries lowering it by $5. Then I ask why its a different price quote online and she tells me she doesn't know what it says online, but we can do that price too. Then there was some confusion if this salon is just Suddenly Slimmer spa or its own entity. After all of this mess, I still try to make an appointment and they require name, phone number, address, email address, and credit card number. When I told her I wasn't comfortable

If you have to have a person all up in your girl bits to help you wax then you need that person to be Dannielli at Suddenly Slimmer/Rio Wax Salon. She is the undisputed Queen of Waxing, and I first 'met' her back in 2004 when she gave me my first proper waxing.

I had the perfect Eye Brow done at Rio Wax Salon in Phoenix. My previous problem in having them done in a symmetric fashion was a complete nightmare and Dannielli came along and now every time I need it done, I know the guarantee of fantastic results!

I come here for my Laser Spot marks removal. I love the fact that is pretty much pain free and with few applications I am ready to go out without my make-up and my skin is clean and shinning without those sun skin spots. They are locate close to my work in Phoenix arcadia area.

I have wanted to get a Brazilian Wax for a couple of years now but have been too chicken. It wasn't the pain factor that worried me, but the fear of infection from an unclean salon. I had been researching places and obsessively reading reviews, discounting any place that had even one mention of double-dipping, unsterile tweezers or even just a dirty environment. I went to Rio Wax salon for the first time yesterday and got a Brazilian wax by Kelly. She did a great job -- definitely one of the most thorough waxes I have gotten before.
It's a bit expensive, much more than what I pay at my usual lady in LA, but I was in a time crunch and needed an appointment ASAP.
Kelly is fast, thorough, and a great person to chat with. She makes an uncomfortable and painful situation fly by! Definitely recommend. :)

WOW, is how I can describe this cute little place.
I have gotten my brows PERFECTLY shaped by Dannielli, and she does an absolutely amazing job. This small salon is a great addition to Suddenly Slimmer. The atmosphere is great with upbeat and relaxing music, cute secluded area, and a very tropical feel.
Staff is always great, and Dannielli is such a sweet person! Would recommend this salon to anyone looking to get their brows waxed. Though, I have never done anything other than my brows, I'm sure their other services are just as great.

Brazilian waxing is rather intimate to say the least, but the ladies at Rio do a great job of making you feel comfortable. My esthetician's name was Kelly and she did a wonderful job of making me feel at ease in a rather awkward and painful time, as well as a beautiful, clean job downstairs! I also have very sensitive skin and my skin did not react too badly to the wax they use at this salon. The prices are the best I have seen in town; I will be back in for sure!

I mean, who actually ENJOYS going to get waxed? It hurts and is annoying and you have a relative stranger poking around at your business for 20-30 minutes. I went to Rio for the first time and would absolutely recommend it hands down over any other wax place in the valley! I didn't have the famed Danielli but my waxologist Sara was amazing! She had me laughing the entire time which is hard when the anticipation has your reflexes on high alert. Sara was also great to talk about what I was looking for so I didn't walk away with too much taken off or too little.

Second thing to make sure you pay attention to with careful careful precaution. Picture this: It's early, you're cranky, you haven't had any coffee yet. Somehow, before heading to work, you find yourself on a gurney with no pants on. That was my morning.
I headed to Rio this morning to get a Brazilian. Not the most peaceful start to a day. Sara was my esthetician and she was beyond amazing. She was gentle, efficient and absolutely hysterical. A beautiful and quaint addition to Suddenly Slimmer! I just wrote a review on Suddenly slimmer so felt that I needed to rate Rio as well! I love coming here as well just for the quiet, but fun feel of it. It has a different vibe than SS. It's a great place to come in if you don't have a lot of time and want to be in and out for your wax... Dannielli does my brow waxes here and she is a genius with brows!! You can get them cheaper elsewhere, but they will not be as good ( I learned the hard way)!! You will feel very comfortable here.

I am a brow junkee and can't stand salons that do the "universal" brow wax and don't take the client's personality and style into consideration. That said, I have tried several places in this area and have not been satisfied.
I tried Rio today (Kelly) and thought she was wonderful and thorough. It has a nice, welcoming, non-snobby atmosphere. I will be back. It is the best value for service that I have found. Also... they did a same day appointment which is a HUGE plus for me.
