Medical branch block is an injection of a local anesthetic near the medial branch nerves to temporarily block the pain signal carried from the facet joints of the spine to the brain. It is used to assist your physician in diagnosing the cause of your back pain. Facet joints are the joints connecting the different vertebrae of the spine to each other.
The sacroiliac joint connects the lowest part of the spine, the sacrum, to the adjoining bones of the pelvis, the iliac bones, that are present on either side of the sacrum. In an adult, there is minimal movement at these joints. However, in a female, they play an important role during delivery where they relax and increase the flexibility of the pelvis.
The hypogastric plexus is a bundle of nerves present near the distal end of the spinal cord. The nerves transfer pain impulses from the organs around the pelvic region, such as the bladder, rectum, descending colon, perineum, uterus, vagina, vulva, prostate, testes and penis. Blocking these nerves from carrying pain signals helps relieve pelvic pain.
Sympathetic nerves, located in the lower spine, control basic functions such as regulating blood flow. They also carry pain signals from tissues to the spinal cord. Lumbar sympathetic block is an injection containing a local anesthetic and steroid, which is injected into or around the sympathetic nerves to block the transmission of pain impulses from the legs or lower back, thereby relieving pain.
A greater occipital nerve block involves injecting medication around the greater occipital nerve to relieve pain. The greater occipital nerve travels through the muscles at the back of the head and into the scalp providing sensation to the back and top of the scalp. Greater occipital nerve blocks are commonly used for patients with a unilateral headache, mainly at the back of the head.

Most of the time when I have an appointment, I'm finished in 60 to 90 minutes. On 12/23/21 I had to wait
2 1/2 hours before I saw Dr. Song. I was not happy! I know Dr.Song is busy everyday. I also appreciate the time he or his physicians assistant spend with each of us. But 2 1/2 hours is excessive.
I'm happy with everything Dr.Song has for me to relieve my pain.

Very frustrated currently with this office. I contacted the office yesterday to request some pain meds for my mom, she had a procedure last week at Dr. Song’s office and she’s been in pretty bad pain ever since then she would like to at least get through Christmas feeling better. I I advised the girl I spoke to that she just needed something to get her through until her next appointment which is Monday 12/27, I even let the girl know that we didn’t necessarily need narcotics just something for the pain. She stated she understood and she would talk to the doctor and call me back, I never got

I have been seeing Dr. Song for going on 3 years now. The staff has always been extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions that I have. They also are very helpful in Scheduling my appointments and filling my prescriptions. Dr. Song will always talk to you about your treatments and explain anything that you don't understand. I am extremely happy with the care that I receive at Palm Tree Interventional Pain Management.

The past two visits have been a pretty long wait and instead of seeing Dr. Song I seen his PA which is totally fine however I would like to know. I feel things can be confusing when multiple people are seeing a patient. Zoe was very nice and thorough. She explained things to me as I asked. I have so many questions and she’s patient about it. The entire staff from check in to check out was friendly and moved as fast as they could to get people seen. Now hopefully medication gets called in through the busy day they had.
