Established in 1995, the mission of the Jungyae Martial Arts Academy of Kirkland is to develop productive citizens through the development of mind, body, and spirit. Grand Master Michael Davis began training in the martial arts at age 11. He participated in various programs throughout his youth and continued through his college years.
In 1990 he joined the Jungyae Martial Arts Academy of Kirkland, a martial arts school that incorporated numerous skills and techniques of self-defense from Korea, Japan and China. He was personally trained by Grand Master Won Kuk Kim, the developer of this system.

Services
Our program is a Korean tae kwon do based system with weapons and self-defense applications. Bowing is a way to show humility. When we bow to someone or something (the training hall), it forces us to be humble and show respect to that person or place. Many people misinterpret bowing as lowering yourself to another.
The JMA Kirkland training curriculum is determined by age group; students progress from white through black belt for each age group. The Little Dragon class emphasizes listening, following direction, and building a solid foundation of learning skills which will be useful both inside and outside of Jungyae Martial Arts.

My 2 sons have been attending classes at Jungyae Martial Arts with Master Davis for over 8 years, since my eldest was 5. My son was having some behavioral issues, and Master Davis was recommended to us by a friend who said that he had helped her children when they were having similar issues. We feel so lucky that we found Master Davis - he has been an outstanding addition to our lives. He is tough and has high expectations, but really gets through to kids, and makes them want to do well for him. He emphasizes honor, respect, integrity, and good behavior. Our family is a big fan of Jung Yae Martial Arts. Master Davis (Sir) provides excellent, personalized instruction in both physical techniques and character development. He is a wonderful blend of strict and fun. He has built a great community in which children, teens, and adults alike to learn and grow in many facets of martial arts. I would highly recommend Jung Yae to anyone who has interest in growing in strength and in spirit.

I cannot speak any more highly of Michael and Sheryl Davis and their Academy! It is UNBELIEVABLE what they do for these kids. The dedication and attention they give each and every student to be stronger and more confident individuals is really great to witness. I'm so grateful that we found and are a part of their program. It has been the best thing for our son to be a part of and I don't see him stopping any time soon. For two and a half years Master Davis (Sir) has guided and inspired my son like no other coach or teacher before. Now 15 years old, my son has gained physical strength and confidence, learned perseverance, patience and the value of plain hard work. And he absolutely loves coming here!!

I've been training Martial Arts for 29 total years, 15 of them at Jungyae Martial Arts Academy, and I couldn't be happier with my Martial Arts experience. Grand Master Davis has a very special teaching talent, he makes classes interesting and fun, yet serious and structured. My 10yr old son has been attending Jungyae Martial Arts Academy for about 18mths. In that time we have seen him flourish. He is fitter, stronger, and more self confident as a result of the care and attention he has received here. Grand Master Davis and his wife Sheryl Davis are two of the best people I know, on both a professional and personal level. We love Jungyae Martial Arts. My daughter has taken martial arts for 4 months now with Master Davis. He is an amazing Master and teaches children how to be focused and confident, this is more than martial arts, it's about life lessons and not giving up. I bring the kids I nanny here 2-3 times a week, and this place is amazing! The kids have learned so much about discipline, working hard, and achievement! Sir pushes the kids, but shows immense belief in them while doing so! I recommend this place to anyone I chat with who is looking to enroll their kid in martial arts. Very inviting place as well! Master Mike has been teaching my kids (ages 10 and 14), since they were 5 years old. Not only is he a great martial instructor, he has taught my kids discipline, self worth, and kindness. My kids pride themselves on using the principals taught by Master Mike "to be the defender's of those being bullied".

Master Michael Davis/Jungyae Martial Arts is the best thing that has happened to our 8 1/2 year old daughter. I have never seen her so excited and disciplined about a sport/hobby/interest - and I am blown away at how she applies the values he teaches in the home setting and at school. My daughter struggles with attention and focus at times and I have seen improvements in this regard in a short period of time. She recognizes now more easily when she is in a situation where she is losing focus and actually gets up and walks away so that she can continue to pay attention. This is a big deal! Her

My son has been attending Jung Yae at the Kirkland location for 7 years, all the way to the Black Belt. I am really grateful to the Academy, its instructors and personally to Master Michael Davis for all the work they do. This school's philosophy is way beyond just physical training and martial art techniques, it is about making your kid a good person. How much would you pay for your kid to start getting good grades, stop lying to you, respect you and other people? This is priceless - bring your kids here and trust the instructors.
