The hospital closed in the 1940's after Dr. Farrell walked away from it when the war and closing of the mines forced him to move his practice. The hotel reopened in the 1950's as the Motherlode Hotel, and then a few years later as the Carriage House Hotel. Charles Crocker and Hugh McClung became the hotel owners and refurbished the old hotel and restaurant in the 1970's.

We arrived around 7:30 in the evening and were starving for a good dinner and an adult beverage. We came in to the hotel and it was pretty barren, although it was a Sunday night. Be warned: if arriving on an off day, such as Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, the town is pretty much shut down. But, the incredible cook and bartender made an exception for us and fried up some onion rings and french fries which we enjoyed with two delicious hazy IPAs at the beautiful bar! They were both so sweet and accommodating!
The room was very nice and clean. Negative remarks: the body wash in the shower

Knowing Trey Loudis has been a blessing to Me, my family and friends, there's no disputing the fact that she is the best account manager ever. I just made another withdrawal few moments ago, it was so great this is really an opportunity knowing you wow friends I can't be so selfish enough to enjoy this blessing alone you can always contact her… directly so she can help you too. She is ready to show you how you can trade and make profit, I'm a living testimony I invested $1000 and I got my profit today after 5 days trade I made a withdrawal of $13,600 as my profit in return wow I'm so happy

First Impression: This hotel was very clean, the property around was clean, the porch was freshly swept, the plants were beautiful and entire appearance was that it was well managed and cared for!
Greetings: The second I walked in the door we were given a VERY cheery greeting, regulars were sat down, we were quickly helped with thorough information. We were given great recommendations about the town and dining. The staff was very busy, everyone spoke to each other with respect, and everyone was moving and helping. To the outsider it made a great impression of teamwork!

Cute old time hotel! Was a great way to escape! No phone, no tv, not even a clock... real only modern amenity was the ac and the updated bathroom.
The bathroom was spotless, I even wondered if it had ever been used as the glass shower did not even have one single water spot!
Bed was comfortable and clean! Bed frame was authentic looking to the late 1800's... very cute!
The real only thing "wrong" was the carpet needed to be cleaned as there were a couple of grease spots in the room. The hallway carpet too was well loved.... Looked like a layer of dirt and grease had been ground

This place is adorable. And the people who work here are so down to earth it's really refreshing and fun. Caralee specifically was so fun. She really made the experience feel like we belonged here, which is really exactly what you want when traveling to a small town. the rooms are really clean and homey, but with all the amenities you would need from a big chain hotel. The bar is so cool as well. Don't sleep on Jamestown.

Haven't been here in forever and ever, so we stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday recently. My wife had the Trio Meat Hamburger and loved it. I ordered the Pastrami Sandwich and it was phenomenal! A very long time ago Round Table pizza used to make the best pastrami sandwich, but when they eliminated their sandwiches it was a casualty. I was truly heartbroken. Lol...
This sandwich is better. Much better. Try it before it goes away.

Place looked clean until we sat down by one of the windows where there were a bunch of flies
We ordered the cowboy burger, which it was good and my companion had it the Monte Cristo sandwich, he wasn't impressed
It took 35 minutes to get our food and the place wasn't even that busy
On top of that they charged us 2.50 for a refill of a soda that was served on a glass of wine
At least let the costumers know that they will be paying 5 bucks for a soda

To be clear, I didn't stay at the hotel. I dined outdoors at the restaurant. My server was Caralee (no one had name tags, it's on my receipt) & in case that's not the correct name, my server had very awesome dreads in red and brown. She was incredible, professional and friendly. She seated me outside so I could enjoy The Automatics and I dined alone. I ordered the Black & Blue salad and the artichoke dip with toasted pita/naan. The Bloody Mary was epic and arrived with a mini salad on top with bacon! Spicy and delightful!!! Aside from being my first visit to this town, this

We had a reservation at 10 server ignored us so I asked for a server twice. After 50 minutes someone finally came and asked about drinks. 20 minutes later coffee arrived and orders were made. 40 minutes later cold food arrived. Very disappointed no apologies won’t be returning. We watched 2 tables walk out. And 2 tables seated after us served before us.

Stayed here for a night and had a lovely dinner on a gift certificate. The staff was super accommodating and friendly even though the gift was over a year old. The meal was amazing and romantic and yummy. What a treat for my husband and I to get away on a romantic trip. Would have given 5 stars but the room was strange. It seemed unfinished and had no windows. Wish we had requested a different room and paid a little more. Don't get the Diamond Lil' room!

What an awesome place. I’m so glad we stumbled across it today. We drove to historical Jamestown today because it’s nearby and they had a street Faire. We decided to eat lunch at the restaurant today. They were very busy so service was a little slow at the beginning. Things picked up once our server saw that we were there. Our food was delicious.… The Southwest salad was a little overpriced for what you got, but it was good. The appetizer of Fried Ravioli is a meal in itself. My husband had the Turkey sandwich with fries. It was the best plate of the meal.

We came into town to do some winter snow sports. This was our first time in the area. We drove downtown Jamestown and noticed this was one of the only outdoor dining options open. It's a very nice covered patio, social distancing, all staff in masks, sanitizing stations everywhere, heaters and amazing food! The food here is absolutely delicious, sauces taste homemade and wide variety of menu items for everyone. The staff were super nice and make sure you have everything you need. We just happened upon this place and made sure to have dinner here every night we were in town :)

I am afraid to post this review. I don't mind sharing, but I'd hate to have the place all booked next time I want to go. I loved this place. The room was comfortable, affordable and clean. They have a great staff and went out of their way to check us in. The restaurant was fantastic. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. The waitress was especially nice and that was before we discovered that we went to the same high school in So Cal. Of course, I was there first. Sean M.

Stopped in for a mid day drink but ended up having lunch. First, my Bloody Mary was excellent, with crisp bacon, celery, olives plus sticking out of the top. Second, between 4 of us, our meals were all good. Eggs Benedict, stacked grilled cheese, fish and chips, garlic fries and meat lovers omelet...no complaints only praise. Service was fast and friendly. If in this area again I will come back.
Oh, and outside seating available.

I've never stayed at the hotel, but we frequent the restaurant. We especially like going here to sit outside and enjoy their covered dog-friendly patio. The patio has ceiling fans to keep you cool in the summer, which is really nice.
The sweet potato fries are an absolute must. The Club and the BLT are absolutely perfect. We've been here for breakfast and dinner, too and always have a great meal with super-friendly service.

Great service but not the best food.
Charming hotel restaurant, it's like stepping back in time 100 years and that's a great experience. This isn't some dynamic amazing dining experience. The service is great and the food is all American. Hamburger, steak sandwich, fish and chips. Let's just say that the things that should be greasy are greasy and a side salad is an afterthought.
The beer and drinks selection is decent and the mixed drinks all looked decent.
There aren't many options in the area and that makes this place one of the best in town.
