Holy Cross Lutheran Church & Preschool stands as a beacon of faith in Sioux Falls. We are a place of prayer, peace, and joy to all who join us. Our community is richly diverse, with people of different ages and backgrounds coming together to live, worship, and serve together. Worship is always about God for us.
Often times we get it backward and make it us for God, but God gave us the gift of Sabbath (worship), the Hebrew word for rest, a time in which we can set aside our relentless schedules and seek something greater-God. Weekly worship helps to renew, refocus, and re-purpose us once again so that we can live the lives that God created us to live.

Our family (Suckows) were founding members of Holy Cross. The initial congregation used to meet in the basement of the Herndon Town Hall, which made for some interesting holiday services when there were drunks in the cells across the hall. The church was built over time by an active congegation, and I'm glad to know it is still going strong after we moved away. From these reviews, it still seems active in the community and a church with heart.

An amazing display of helping their community. We got Covid tested in order to be able to travel to the northeast. They have worked with the Health Dept to set up a quick and efficient and friendly and comfortable environment to get people in and tested and out again. The friendliness of everyone was very much appreciated in what could have been made into a stressful situation. The test was painless and quick. You should go.

Very Pro-Marriage and Pro-Family church! Especially compared to some.
Thus, an oasis of Faith, support, and guidance in an area of what is otherwise "weathervane" Christianity and Lutheranism. And, real Lutheranism is much more than "Catholic-Lite"! It's cherishing the intrinsic wealth of each individual (much as Jesus with the widow and the mite she brought as her offering) and being progressive enough to call to justice the wrongs around us... much as Jesus and the money changers. Has a strong emphasis on upholding all of God's Word, as contained in the Bible. Does not ignore any part of God
