West Jefferson is situated in the Appalachian Mountain chain (specifically in the Blue Ridge), in a valley between Mount Jefferson (to the east) and Paddy Mountain (to the west). Until the early 2000s, West Jefferson was a secret kept by those who lived or owned property here.

20th, 2021, Father’s Day week. We stayed at Kapena Escape. On Sunday , Fathers Day arrival the temperature inside the rental home was 81 degrees, the home Was Not Clean, sofa behind the couch cushion/ coffee still in pot just a couple examples. I called them and they weren’t Nice at all… finally after several hours of waiting the A/C was fixed. They Never once called us with any update, I had to call them each time. And finally an older lady and the on call manager said very rudely someone would be there in a couple hours. They Never once

We stayed at Black Dog the week of Dec. 6th 2020. The home is beautiful, private and well appointed. It is obvious that the owners put alot into the renovation. Loved the fireplace and extensive decking. There were days we never left the property except for walks. Also, housekeeping did an excellent job before arrival.

What a blessing to stay at the Naughty Pine cabin while needing temporary housing after our home sold. Well built, well stocked, beautiful finishes and decor! Everything is here that you could possibly want to live happily and comfortably! We especially loved the deep and wide covered porch complete with a warming gas fire table. And what a treat to take walks on the serene property in a peaceful, private setting. Located conveniently to a main road and just a gorgeous drive into town. I booked a cabin back in April with this rental company. At the time everything seemed to go smoothly, friendly staff and prompt receipt of rental agreement etc. Mid summer I was notified by the agent that the property we had rented through them was now going to a different rental agency and they would no longer be handling the property. I was assured all of my information and my deposit would be transferred to the new agency. My final balance on the property was due on October 16th which was 30 days prior to our arrival. We rented from them this past weekend, and their customer service was hands-down amazing! After almost being scammed through VRBO, and again on Craigslist, I was skeptical! I called into their office wanting to talk to a real person.. They answered all my questions, and let me book on the phone, not online. A small mishap was handled quickly and professionally.. We will rent through them again, and HIGHLY recommend them! And both the properties we have rented were perfect, and as described on their website!
