WineHaven was founded in 1995 by Kevin and Cheri Peterson, along with their sons Kyle and Troy. Cheri coordinates WineHaven's special events and Troy is the winery's tasting room manager. Kevin and Kyle Peterson are WineHaven's father-and-son winemaking team. Together, they have received more than 200 awards for winemaking excellence at New York and California wine competitions since the family opened WineHaven in 1995.

Took my wife there for an early Christmas present. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Found a red wine I actually liked. Pizza and meat, cheese and nut platter were delicious and a great lunch choice while trying some new wine. Bought six different bottles to take home. Definitely going back to try some more.

This was my second visit to lovely wine haven and each visit was wonderful! I’m a big wine person from California so was a bit skeptical but was pleasantly surprised that they had a quite a range of options for those who like dry (Marquette is fabulous!) and those who like sweet (my in laws love the cranberry one). The slushies are also a fun alternative too! We got some pizzas and their cheese platter - delicious! But the best part is their warm and friendly service. It’s truly a haven on the side of the road you don’t want to miss!

Winehaven Winery is a great place to stop and have a glass of wine. We became members here because they offer so much and there is no money down. All of the wine is great to drink! I really like the edelweiss or the Marechal Foch. The seasonal flights are really good. Lets you taste a few of the different wines at a low cost. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Delicious wine and wine slushies, love that they have enough slushy flavors for a flight for something different. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The wind knocked over our slushies and they replaced them all and cleaned it all up and we're extremely kind about the whole situation. Look forward to going again. They have spacious seating both inside and outside.

We've been to Winehaven numerous times and always love our time, but having our wedding there was absolutely exceptional. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the entire process (whether planning for the wedding or simply enjoying some wine while we envisioned the day). Taylor, the event planner, is simply the best!! Anyone that has the chance to work with her is very lucky. Thank you Taylor and the entire Winehaven staff for such a wonderful experience! We'll be back to enjoy more wine...often! :)

Busy place during covid. SoCial distancing enforced. Preferred the red wine over their whites. Winery set up Not as personal or private as I would like, reminds me more of a commercial manufacturer. When you drive up to the location you're greeted immediately by the crowds in the front yard which makes it esthetically unpleasant to the eye.
We got our wine and sat down in the front yard overlooking the busy road instead of their vineyards like other places that I've been to. Turned me off a bit.

Favorite place to go when we don't want to waste the weekend...or to take a gal pal for a birthday! Wine slushies are the must binge here, but wine samplings and flights need to be on your bucket list if you are new. Deer garden red is the bottle that always goes home with us. Staff are so great! I've also seen this brand sold at Trader Joes in the Twin Cities. That made me insta happy!

The customer service is very friendly and helpful, especially if you've never been before. They have beer for those who don't drink wine and food/snacks if you're hungry!
They often host events and weddings which seem to be busy and we'll organized.

I highly recommend this beautiful winery!! Due to COVID-19, they are requiring reservations, however, all the reservations were taken on the day I was interested in going. I called last minute to ask if they would be able to seat a party of 2 and they said they probably could squeeze us in and they did just that! We ordered the raspberry wine slushees (which are delicious!) and enjoyed a nice summer day on the patio. Before the winery closed, we wanted to buy a few bottles of wine and this is when our experience became amazing. Troy helped us out in picking which wine to buy and his positive energy

Came here for a paint and sip party. Got there early for the sipping. Painting was excellent. Sipping could have been better. Wines tasted great but customer service was poor. Walked in and was kind of rudely told the painting is 'over there' didn't ask if we wanted wine or a tasting or anything. There were two bars and one 'over there' so we walked over there and asked, for a glass. He said that he does tastings and if we want a glass and don't have cash we need to go back [to where we came in]. Told him that guy told us to come over here and he said 'well

What a lovely spot on a very dreary, cold, and rainy day in Minnesota. Wedding is taking place here and I hope the weather cooperates for the happy couple!! Very good wines and service at the tasting bar. 6 tasters for $10 ~ can't complain about that! Some of the wines are made with patented grapes which is always cool. Stop in if you are up this way!!

Their Chisago wine and they are a rhubarb wine and rhubarb slush are excellent. Even their Rosé is good. These were my favorites.
Oh and and the strawberry rhubarb cupcake was very light and very tasty.
The rhubarb summer frenzie includes vendors and two food trucks with excellent brisket. Must be 21 to drink :-)

We were hiking nearby at the state parks and notified that Winehaven was on the way home to the cities so we decided to stop by.
Check in for a discount on the wine tasting! We were able to try 6 wines each so we decided to try a bunch on the tasting menu.
I am partial to dry wines with a stronger oak flavor. My favorite (along with many of the staff) was the Nokomis. I also enjoyed the Marquette reserve and the Chardonnay.
They grow many of their own grapes so it was fun to hear about their vineyard from the staff. The vineyard itself is beautiful and they host public/private events including

What a fun place! My friends and I came here for my birthday on a beautiful fall day to do the wine tasting. It was only $5 for six samples. The samples were decent size and for the price, well worth the experience. The people were wonderful and helpful. The scenery around the vineyard was beautiful with a lake in the back. You get a sheet of all the wines available to tastes with columns for whites, reds and specialty. It goes from dry to sweeter as you go down the list. The wine pourers will proceed down your selections, starting with white, then reds then dessert.

My husband & I got married at Winehaven in July. I am absolutely blown away with my experience. From the winemaker & his son to the wedding coordinator (Heather & Taylor- wow are they keepers)....they truly provide the best customer service. They made us feel so special. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. After our ceremony, my husband & I had a private table set up in the vineyard to have a private moment for 15 minutes while our guests made their way to social hour. All of the wines were good, I especially liked the merlot and Marquette reserve.
We also had a cheese board, decent sized pieces and I liked the Brie and cheddar.
I would come back again but probably in the summer to see the vines and place a bit more lovely.

This review is long overdue. So we tried a few different wineries out and this is the one that made the lasting impression. Being from California and having the most amazing wineries here to choose from, of course I would be a bit skeptical. But let me tell you, I was impressed! We toured the grounds and they were absolutely BEAUTIFUL! But the wines, OH MY GOD. I was so impressed by their selection and flavors that I now have them ship me wine at least 3 times a year! The only draw back are those darn mosquitos if you're outside!

Winehaven has by far my favorite wines in Minnesota. I only make up here once per year, because they are part of the wine, cheese and chocolate weekend in November. This means that I have to load up on my order! Since I bought 5 bottles, the 6th was free! (not sure if this deal is ongoing or not). In the past 2 years or so they have greatly expanded from the tiny space they used to work from. This new space is large, homey, very bright due to the large windows. They overlook the vineyard and you can see right where the grapes come from. The new space is lovely and I bet they host weddings
