I have never been so disappointed with a financial company like I am with Brighthouse Financial. In today's time their customer service rep stated they do not use email or email their customer. With COVID going on these past two years and all the delays and issues with the mail....they don't email. So tripling an customer monthly life insurance policy amount without notification ...is okay with them? Been with Metlife/Brighthouse since 2001 and this is the thanks I get as a long time customer. Then to top if all off I request a confirmation that my policy is cancelled so there are no other deductions

I am an assistant to an advisor. We have a few clients with accounts at Brighthouse Financial. I talk with many different companies every day, and Brighthouse is by far the worst one. We requested an annual statement for a client over a month ago. They never sent it after two weeks, so I called them and requested it again. They said it would be emailed to me within 5-7 business days. When they never sent it, I had to call again. This time, they said that it would be 14 days or more. Mind blowing how messed up Brighthouse Financial is with regards to customer service. Have a 92year old mother experiencing dementia and need to cash out her policy so trying to have a power of attorney recognized and change an address on her policy. 2 months into this process and the customer service sweat shop 'Backroom' is unable to execute the requrest. Everything is two weeks to execute and after the two weeks nothing is done. No ability to contact a supervisor/manager. The Brighthouse Financial representatives have an attitude if anything is questioned. As a potential investor in this corporation

WOW Do not buy life insurance products from this company. I have been trying to simply change a mailing address for over a year now. Today I was told I am not allowed to speak with billing department as they "don't take phone calls." I asked for a website to do a chat and also told "they don't do that either." The service rep I spoke with from Costa Rica was no help at all. This really makes me wonder what kind of service my family members would get should they need to file a claim on my policy.

It's absolutely ridiculous in this day and time that you can't automatically draft payments to an annuity loan, and when it's mailed in it often takes over two weeks for it to be received and posted.
Recently, I mailed my payment in, the check was cashed and they sent me a letter stating that I had defaulted on the loan. I've tried twice to call them to get this corrected and I've been on hold for over an hour. I hate dealing with this company!

Impossible to reach anyone on customer service phone #. if you enter your number to be called back, it never happens, if you stay on the line, you better have a phone with long battery life. one call the wait time was 90 minutes then my phone battery died, the other call the wait time was 2 hours until i gave up. i wonder if there is an actual person on the other side.
